We won't be posting on this feed anymore. Feel free to follow @iurgiurrutia (posting about comics and libraries and some political ramblings) and @karendw on their personal feeds. The blog has now changed the address to: https://t.co/4maxodJWvf
#InternationalWomensDay shout-out to my two cartooning idols, @fborfw and @NearSitedMonkey. Without Lynn and Lynda, little me might've thought comics were a man's game only. Thank you!
The adult list is dominated by manga. It's interesting to see Nick Drnaso's Sabrina there. The graphic novel adaption of Anne Frank's Diary has made it to the list, and I'm sure we'll see the adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale as soon as it's out. #comics https://t.co/lJ92qjyPNo
Some interesting things in the monthly @ICV2 comics sales lists. The top 20 authors list showing a lot of diversity in creators and publishers. Also a very strong female creator presence. #comics#libcomix

No surprises at all for the Junior list. Pilkey and @goraina continue to dominate as usual. It's great to see @svetlania breaking in with Crush, an excellent graphic novel and, of course, the new Hilo by @JuddWinick is there too. #juniorcomics
There has long been a need of more scholarly books on comics. This book on critical librarianship and comics looks excellent. #comics#libraries

Stron health warning for superhero comic book readers, particularly of @DCComics : studies show a direct correlation between a recent pandemic of sudden cardiac arrests and @TomTaylorMadeโs #DCeased announcements.
I find European comics interesting and attractive because of how personal they tend to be. The writer and artist are the main pillars. Also the focus is always on graphic novels rather than ongoing series. Even when it's a long series, they're almost always self contained albums
I can't get enough of European comics, their diversity of styles and genres, and of course I hope one day I can go to the Angouleme Comics Festival. Here's the rundown to a really interesting panel that took place there #comics#graphicnovels https://t.co/L3s4bQiI38
Iโm not sure they realise how big the market is and how much theyโd profit from library purchases. Diamond with all its flaws (and there are many) knows this well. They reach out and provide lots of resources for libraries
Batman White Knight is excellent and every library should have it. I agree that @DCComics is doing a great job with the Black Label imprint. @Marvel would do well in paying attention and publishing some prestige graphic novels.
The problem with libraries and @Marvel and @DCComics is that most librarians have no idea what to get and the two big publishers make it difficult. DC has the advantage here with the library e-newsletter, the yearly DC Essentials book and a focus on prestige graphic novels.
"X-O MANOWAR has consistently been one of the better comic book series over the last couple of years, and this issue is a prime example of why." Find out why @graphicpolicy loves #XOMANOWAR with this week's issue #23 - a new arc and great place to start! https://t.co/kKjq3zdx3z
The Quest for the Hiss-paniola was excellent. I made sure the library got it and I put it on display. It disappeared from the shelve quite rapidly. I look forward to more Jack Scratch and crew adventures #comics#libraries
When I was a child, #YokoTsuno was my favorite european #comic book. Belgian writer and artist Roger Leloup draw a lot of nice and colorful ships.
