That said if anyone knows of any education based jobs (that aren’t as a classroom teacher) going available, I’d be extremely grateful if you could send them my way.
Roll on 2026 🥴
Soon to be divorced, moved back from Cyprus 3 weeks ago, started a new job in a school, immediately hated it so handed in my resignation yesterday and don’t have a job to go to.
And yet I’m weirdly not panicking! 😬
@HalifaxBank I’m currently switching my daughter’s junior ISA to another bank.
I need to check the address registered with the account. Have you got a number I can call?
Thanks
Totally agree with this.
Trying to explain to bottom set kids they have a GCSE in maths if they get a 1 is quite difficult. All because of the ‘magical grade 4’ that makes others think anything less is inadequate.
If there’s one plea I could make ahead of GCSE results day tomorrow, it’s in the way the media and other commentators talk about GCSE grades.
Grades 1-3 are not fails. Us or Xs are. Anyone with a 1-3 HAS GOT A GCSE. And for some of those kiddos, a 1 or a 2 or 3 can be a phenomenal result that they deserve to be proud of. Let’s be a bit more responsible in our language.
Every year we send out 5000 posters to UK schools, but we're not sure they all get opened. If you throw it away, you might be depriving your students of a lot of fun, so If you get an A4 envelope that looks like this, maybe at least open it and take a look, pretty please?
New! A post that summarises some of the developments, trends and resources for maths teachers from the past year.
Kind of like a mega-gems-catch-up post to make sure everyone is up-to-date. 💎

This was one of my students who had self taught himself further maths a-level. I had to fight for him to be entered with our candidates and he came out with an A* 🥹 unbelievably proud and grateful to have played a part in his maths journey.
This year was my first year 13 class (who I had from beginning of year 12) and they smashed it out of the park!
Ironically it’s likely my last year 13 class as I won’t be returning to a school environment but definitely gives me some confidence to keep a level on when I tutor.
