I saw more MMA fans defending Conor McGregor for raping a woman than I see for Dustin Poirier getting drunk.
All of a sudden everyone is on a moral high horse for a nigga who drunk too much Tequila
@DustinPoirier
Remember brother, we fall, but we get up because the ground is no place for a champion. Words of the wise. Did these fools forget diamond is unbreakable!?
Lots of takeaways from Yan v Merab. Biggest one is Yan can fence grab all the first two rounds and not get told anything by the ref. Great performance, but if fans want to “crack down” on fouling, call out your favorite fighter. Beautiful performance, not taking anything away
Paddy v BSD is the fight to make. Renato is coming off two losses, BSD has gained 2 in the meantime. Especially if we want some credibility to Paddy’s run, it needs to be against a guy coming off wins
Such a good perspective to offer. While I don’t agree that McGregor was bigger than Floyd was, even at this time, I think McGregor drew in a new face of fans to the boxing community. Since, we’ve seen many MMA stars do the transition, leaving less room for spectacle post MayMac
So why not get Ilia in there with a clear fan favorite within Gaethje, get people in seats, give him a bigger platform which in return gives the UFC a bigger platform. We will never get what we want as hardcores, but with million made, the
Ilia V Gaethje isn’t a horrible play on the UFC, popularity & sales wise. I don’t know why fans believe that the UFC will hone in on match ups based on rankings. This is nothing more than a business. Once you see the sport like this, it makes fights like this more tolerable

Sorry to compare the two, but it’s true on a business stand point. Also, the UFC is now at a point to where everyone who is ranked is a social celebrity. This isn’t 2016 where Nate Diaz can go from 0 to hero in 24 hours. It’s easier to gain the fans from established fighters
