FromSoftware making an 8-player online exclusive for the Switch 2 is a crazy bet.
The whole game needs an active multiplayer base to work, but FromSoft players aren't exactly known for hanging out on Nintendo hardware. I'm genuinely curious who fills these lobbies. Are the PC and PlayStation guys actually going to buy a Switch 2 just for this? ๐
EA FC 27 Ultimate Edition, Kylian Mbappรฉ.
NBA 2K27, Victor Wembanyama.
I'm just looking at the timeline realizing we casually hold a monopoly on sports video games right now ๐
Wemby really earned that 2K spot too. First Team All-NBA, Defensive Player of the Year, third in MVP voting, and he led the league with 197 blocks.
Bro maxed out the entire basketball skill tree while Mbappรฉ keeps the football side locked.
The upcoming closed network trial for The Duskbloods is going to be the first real look at what the Switch 2 hardware can actually do.
I already thought a FromSoftware exclusive was a crazy bet, but the multiplayer demands here are heavy:
โข Up to 8 players in a PvPvE environment
โข Registration is open until July 28 (trial runs August 21, 24)
โข Requires a Nintendo Switch Online sub
Throwing eight players into a FromSoft map is a lot to process. This trial is the first concrete proof of how the new machine manages actual multiplayer strain.
I'm applying mostly because I just want to see how the engine holds together when an entire lobby starts fighting at once ๐
