Strait of Hormuz traffic continues amid security threats
The Strait of Hormuz remained open over the weekend, with vessel movements continuing despite ongoing maritime security concerns in the region. According to #MarineTraffic data, 108 verified crossings were recorded between 26 and 28 June, covering container, tanker, LNG-linked, bulk and service vessel movements. Activity was strongest on 26 June, before easing over the following two days.
Routing remained divided. 39 crossings used the Omani Route, 37 followed the Iranian Route, 23 were classified as Dark or Unknown, and 9 used the IMO Route. The split suggests operators are still assessing risk cautiously rather than returning to pre-crisis traffic patterns.
