If your question is sensitive or polarising you will increase nonresponders so should increase your sample size.
I will accept that "extremely" was hyperbolic.

@Reginald484887@YouGov Sure in its most basic assessment, you would be happy with a number as low as 400, but the UK is not a basic set, they are also running subgroup analysis.
