One of the great lies the big PBM industry tells us is that they are needed to negotiate lower prices.

It's a lie. They negotiate rebates. Not prices. In fact, the big PBMs control more than 95pct of the rebate negotiations. Big brand Pharma companies can't negotiate with anyone else. IMO, it's a racket.

But it's in the PBM's blood. Their parent companies, the big insurance companies, negotiate prices with hospitals that by law have to be published. They are so bad at it, that anyone with a credit card can walk into most hospitals and get a far,far, far better price on about 50 pct of the most common procedures and services

The hospitals are happy to give you better pricing because working with the big insurance companies is expensive. Some people estimate that 30pct of the $4.9T in healthcare spending is attributed to the overhead insurance companies and pricing distortions big PBMs create

There are plenty of options. Choose wisely
