Love this from Jess Phillips today 🤣🤣🤣
Kay burley
‘what we gonna do about the Elgin marbles?’
Jess - short shocked pause 😮
‘Oh gosh, you know what, I don’t know’
‘It’s like a raging debate in my house with my husband’
Well worth a giggle 👇
This man will inherit £6m which he will have to pay just £0.6m Inheritance Tax on, over 10 years.
He thinks he should inherit £6m for free, and so should all his children and so on forever.
Because he is special, he's a farmer.
🏆🏆And the winner of the 2024 LGIU&CCLA Scotland Young Cllr of the Year Award is Cllr Katie Pragnell of East Renfrewshire Council 🎉🎉CONGRATULATIONS!! @KatiePragnell@EastRenCouncil#CllrAwards#localgov
The trauma, uncertainty & rollercoaster of conflicting emotions for parents of babies born prematurely is enormous, with the incidence of mental health difficulties, such has PTSD, after neonatal care thought to be as high as 70%. More support is urgently needed for prem parents!
Getting very cross with @BBCBreakfast this morning. No one is explaining that most students will NOT repay their loan, especially since the last government changed the repayment period from 30 to 40 years! It’s not like a mortgage @TVNaga01 . This doesn’t have to be paid back.
What a fascinating insightful piece from @davidfrum just now. So considered in pointing out that any anarchy this time round will NOT be condoned by a sitting president #triplive
Strange that Jeremy Clarkson is so annoyed about something that doesn't affect 87% of farmers, but which closes a loophole that allowed very rich people to buy farmland simply to avoid inheritance tax.
The Country Land and Business Association says the new £1m cap on agricultural inheritance tax relief will "harm 70,000 farms". That's 1/3 of all farms.
What does the actual data show? Less than 500 farms/year will be pay more tax as a result of this change every year. Possibly as few as 100.
His ex-wife committed suicide after she found his diary where he wrote in very graphic detail about 37 different affairs. He also rated his sexual encounters with a numerical scale in the journal. He’s not a doctor or scientist. Sure, he should be in charge of women’s health.

Take about 100 kg bags of rice. Tip them out on the floor. So many grains of rice. Each one represents one person displaced from Gaza. 1.7 million is quick to say but so hard to imagine 😞
