If someone doesn’t want to hear the gospel, we are taught to respect their decision and pray for them.
If someone doesn’t want to support trans rights, they will threaten you with violence for refusing to accept their delusions.
I think I started watching Jojo around 2018 or so. My younger brother put me on it and I at first thought it was weird and well I still think it's weird, but obviously I came to really like it haha. I'm really glad that this anime was able to help you in that way! I'm so rusty on the story, it's so sad, I need to rewatch it all. But I think my fav arc was part 3 and part 4^^
The truth is... you're not entitled to it.
ACCEPTANCE is something you must earn. Whether from yourself or others.
Some people will never accept you (due to philosophical difference) and having the serenity to accept that first—and then find your tribe is the only way to be at peace.
Anyway just taking a little break from work and I thought about that~💙
Here’s my opinion on the denomination discourse that literally nobody asked for:
First off, I’d like to preface that it is incredibly important to be a part of a local church. No, watching sermons online doesn’t cut it. Having fellowship and brothers and sisters to encourage us and hold each other accountable is important. We must use our spiritual gifts that the Lord has so graciously blessed us with.
Hebrews 10:24-25
Colossians 3:16
Second, I’d like to state that denominations both do and do not matter.
Being part of a specific denomination is not what saves you. However, it does influence your beliefs. There are many denominations that blaspheme and commit heresy. There are some that claim to be Christians, but upon further inspection, they are not Christians at all (e.g. LDS, JW, SDA). Doctrine matters. I do believe that people can be saved in spite of their denomination and that the Lord can and will guide them to the truth. I don’t think that just because someone attends the same church as I do means that they’re automatically saved. I do, however, believe that if someone relies on anything or anyone else outside of Christ, such as their own works/saints/icons, that they automatically have a higher chance of not actually being born again. I believe in marking and avoiding false teachers and warning my brothers and sisters. I believe that when you know the Truth, the Lord will keep you and perfect your faith. I think if someone doesn’t fully know or understand Him, they will be unstable in their faith and will be switching denominations/beliefs and their fruit will be questionable.
Doing rituals doesn’t bring you closer to God. Fully surrendering and trusting Him does. Reading His word and praying and listening to Him does. Water and incense doesn’t save you. Faith in Him does.
And remember:
Belief ≠ Faith
Sanctification ≠ Justification
Heart posture matters.
Doctrine matters.
A church can’t save you.
Jesus can.
