Great visit to @LoramUK at Derby today to look at the @postractionuk battery-electric prototype 08-e (08308) on trial. Testing so far has been a great success and the 08-e will return to Neville Hill for a longer series of tests in the New Year. 08756/871 complete the line up

The #08e has successfully completed trials with Mendip Rail at @hd_materialsUK Whatley Quarry in Somerset - this included pushing & pulling over 1000 tonne trains from the bottom of the yard up through the reverse curves, crossovers and harsh gradients. 🔋⚡️

08e prototype 08308 has successfully completed a trial at Whatley Quarry, says @postractionuk. The trial involved the loco pushing/pulling trains of over 1000 tonnes from the bottom of the yard to the stone-loading area, and confirmed it performs better than a traditional 08.

Great to see the #08e on the Turntable this weekend at @barrowhill41 for their Seaside event. The rock painting station was a particular favourite for us.

The #08e interlocking cam lets the power handle move in both directions, whilst maintaining safety interlocks & familiar notches. Pulling the handle backwards controls the regenerative brake & allows the driver to control both power& electric brake on a single handle. #ukrailways
