@sbmcks@Rick_in_ICT No, it is not an "allusion," it's a simple dead metaphor. Just because your only experience with this phrase is in the context of release from sexual arousal does not negate the fact it has specific historical and extant, nonfigurative and metaphorical meanings in other contexts.
The real danger with Iran's receiving $300,000,000,000 infusion of cash is not that they will rebuild their defensive infrastructure but that they will invest all of this new money into their already highly developed and successful offensive drone programs.
People are rightfully criticizing djt for creating the monstrous conditions which necessitated this MOU agreement in Versailles; I see few arguing against peace itself, but many (especially MAGAts) are angry about the reported $300B being made available to Iran under this deal.
Notice how almost everyone on television and in national media is arguing against peace. It's stunning how unanimous they are that we should continue the war. They are all speaking out against the peace deal. Gee, I wonder if it has anything to do with Israel being against it.
To all those who promised Trump was committed to democratic regime change in Iran, you owe the Iranian people an apology. He just affirmed to respect the brutal dictatorship in Tehran. And to help them consolidate their power, heโs going to help them access hundreds of billions of dollars.
@Rick_in_ICT@RadioFreeTom To me, it's clear from the context of his comments he was referring to someone who had exhausted all efforts or options. But according to you, his use of that phrase can mean only one thing: "you've ejaculated all of your semen," irrespective and exclusive of all past meanings.
@suutsprite@AndrewDevoss@RadioFreeTom Obviously, he's not from a military background and he's never been known to have an interest in intellectual pursuits. We also know he's a disgusting old pervert, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he learned that phrase in a locker room or from a porn magazine.
@AndrewDevoss@RadioFreeTom No, actually. People still shoot black powder rifles and pistols, and that phrase continues to carry the same meaning as before. But yes, that phrase has also been used as sexual innuendo for centuries, too.
@Eviljohna Do you live near a dental school? You may qualify for free or reduced-cost dental care. Ideal for cleanings or simple procedures like tooth removal.
@atrupar He's playing to the cameras in front of him. He believes that this forward-leaning stance creates a slendering illusion because his head is closer to the camera than is his belly.
To be clear, this wasn't a final vote approving the NDAA budget, it was a procedural vote to report the bill out of Committee to the full Senate for debate and amendments. It doesn't necessarily signal absolute support for the bill. These Senators may propose major amendments.

@mickyfarr11 I don't know what Angus King, et al, positions are on the NDAA overall, but I do know this was a not a vote to approve the NDAA, it was a vote to report the proposed NDAA out of Committee and proceed to the Senate for debate and amendment. They may well support major amendments.
A @neeratanden appreciation tweet. She actively argued for a New Deal response to the COVID pandemic. COVID, per Tanden, exposed inequality. Maybe our post-COVID response could address the fractures & lead to broader social good. That's what happened post-Depression & post-WWII.
