Still one of most effective PSAs I've watched. Centers an issue without coming off as preachy and showcases the real world side effects of this disease. It's heartbreaking, but it's extremely viable. The use of the Disney-like fairytale ending in reality is a chef's kiss.
@sp_creates Yeah, as helpful as BE can be, it feels a little overly "invasive" as it will trigger the moment even base code freaks out a little. Am thinking of removing it.
If the police knock on your door about a social media post, ask them to identify themselves (name, constable number, or warrant card) and state their reason for visiting. You are not obligated to open the door or let them in unless they present a valid warrant or cite a specific legal power, such as Section 17 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (e.g., to arrest for a serious crime or prevent harm). Politely ask if you are being accused of a crime and, if so, what offence. If they request a voluntary interview and no crime is alleged, inform them you will consider attending with legal representation and will record the interview (with their knowledge). If the visit concerns a non-crime hate incident, ask for clarification and remind them of the Miller v College of Policing case (2020), which requires police to act proportionately and respect your free speech rights under Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998. Stay calm, note the officers’ details, and seek legal advice promptly if unsure. If you believe the police’s actions are unlawful, you can make a complaint or seek legal action later
Powers of Entry: Police MAY have warrantless entry powers under Section 17 of PACE for serious (indictable) offences or urgent situations
Voluntary Interview: You have the right to legal representation and transparency in recording interviews, aligning with PACE and Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.
Miller Case and NCHIs: The Miller case is a reminder of proportionality and free speech rights
Recording Interactions: While not legally required, informing police you’re recording (e.g., via a doorbell camera) can deter misconduct at the time of the door knock. Covert recordings are legal but may not be admissible in court
Complaints: If police act unlawfully (e.g., unwarranted entry or disproportionate NCHI investigation), you can complain to the force or the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) or pursue legal action for trespass or rights violations

it’s because shoe never lost her humanity
honestly she reminds me a lot of myself as i slowly went from being a liberal to more conservative
if charlie’s death would have happened when i was still a liberal i think it would have been enough to make me “switch sides” right there
"Hmmm, what Killer should I main? An S tier like Blight would be super cool to learn but I do like Huntress's gameplay?"
The ever humble and kind Oni after getting a successful M1 on a Survivor:
The reason what happened to Andy Ngo must be revisited is because the public and pundits’ reaction to his brutal attacks by Antifa in 2019 and 2021 was completely insane.
It was a sign of how morally corrupt and rotten our civic culture was. If you want to understand how we got here, where scores of leftists celebrate Charlie’s assassination (and even show up to disrupt vigils and memorials), you need to look at what happened after Ngo was beaten to a pulp and society at large not only went “meh,” but turned around to blame HIM instead.
Until we have a moral reckoning, I’m afraid things will stay the same.
Here are major tactics that were used to execute the moral inversion blaming Andy for his own attack by Antifa in Portland:
1) “Andy Ngo is not a journalist” - instead he was characterized repeatedly in articles by the likes of USA Today as a “provocateur” or “activist”
2) He knew he was an Antifa target so he was really asking for it when he went to cover their direct action campaigns
3) He was somehow embedded with the Proud Boys. This fabrication made him out to be a legitimate target and the media uncritically repeated it at every chance. @robbysoave was one of the only journalists who debunked it
4) As a result of Andy’s reporting, many Antifa members ended up on neo-Nazi “kill lists.” By identifying Antifa members which they called “doxxing,” Andy put THEM in danger of attack by neo-Nazi groups
5) “Milkshaking is not assault LOL” - fuck you if you made light of this
6) Andy’s columns are so full of hate that they are essentially violence
Andy’s work on Antifa was constantly ignored or downplayed. He was treated as if he was a kook who conjured up Antifa as a figment of his own imagination by the mainstream press. I saw all of this on top of the excuses above which led me to believe that we were heading into a very dark place.
(Oh, and what happened to that Grammy-winning banjo player who had the audacity to publicly recommend Andy’s book Unmasked? LOL)
What we have here is a moral and spiritual crisis and we have been steeped in it for a very long time. The reactions to both Charlie Hebdo and the attack on Andy Ngo foreshadow this moment we find ourselves in.
@deykxn And the fact there are people defending posts like this, and saying "sims players are so dumb!"
Like ok assholes, what about console and vanilla players who are *also* experiencing the same game breaking bugs? Are mods to blame there or just EA's shitty code? Ffs.
On May 28, 2021, I ran for my life through the streets of downtown Portland, Ore.
Antifa had discovered me working undercover after one of their members, John Hacker, exposed me to the mob.
I screamed for help as I fled, but drivers and pedestrians looked away. The businesses were all shuttered, remnants of the ongoing destruction from the 2020 BLM-Antifa riots. There was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
They caught me. Antifa tackled me to the ground, tearing my knee tendon in the process as I slid across the pavement. They punched me over and over and tried to choke me out. I barely managed to stumble into @theNinesHotel, begging the staff to call 911. Instead, they tried to force me back outside and told me to wear a Covid mask. I dropped to the floor, refusing to move, pleading for them to call the police. They refused.
Outside, Antifa gathered. One of their ringleaders, Elizabeth Richter — the blonde woman — began rallying the crowd. She called on others on a livestream to come finish me off. She went inside the hotel and threatened me. Antifa also tried breaking their way into the hotel.
I escaped only by jumping into an elevator with a hotel guest. After that, I was taken by ambulance to the hospital with a police guard. I was soaked in my blood. On social media, Antifa immediately began trying to track which hospital I was in, hoping to finish the job.
As soon as I was discharged, I had to flee Portland. I moved between safe houses in different states. Antifa’s hunt for me was far from over.
@PortlandPolice closed the case a few weeks afterward, saying they couldn’t identify anyone. Nobody was ever arrested, just like in 2019 when I was beaten to the point that my brain bled.
As a console simmer that experiences bugs that get blammed on mods...
This isn't cute, funny, or professional imo... its passive-aggressive and tone deaf when the game has 1000s of legit bugs affecting gameplay for everyone, even those without mods.
