He went to Ring Road where he slept over. Instead of involving the authorities for careful investigation, they tortured him for hours then rushed him to hospital, only for him to die this morning. This jungle justice culture shows the average Nigerian’s mentality.

He was beaten to death yesterday by students in an off campus apartment behind the City of David in Ring Road area of Jos. .

IB passed the night in his friends place in Ring Road and the friend accused him of stealing his iPhone 16 in the morning.

He said since they were the only two in the room, he's the only suspect.
They subjected this young model to brutal torture, humiliating, disgracing and dehumanising him.

They later locked him up in a room and asked a nurse to check up on him. The Nurse confirmed him dead and they attempted to take him to JUTH Emergency unit to make the case look like an emergency when the police was called and they were arrested.

The beastly treatment they subjected this boy to is better imagined. Share this until the right thing is done. May Almighty God continue to expose perpetrators of dastard acts like this. Amen/ Ameen

I am finding out that Ibrahim (Ibee) Mbaya and Rinji’s friendship began at this contest. It makes this tragedy even harder to bear because the main orchestrator was a friend. Was it jealousy?

It is heartbreaking that a bond born in a shared moment ended over an iPhone, an iPhone it was later discovered was never in Ibee's possession.

Parents send their wards to the university and pray they do well in school and graduate with flying colours. Now a family is receiving their own in a body bag.

💔 A popular model, Ibrahim Mbaya, popularly known as Ibee, has reportedly died after he was accused of stealing an iPhone and allegedly assaulted by a group of people in Jos, Plateau State.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Although Ibee denied the allegation, he was allegedly beaten instead of being handed over to the authorities. He later died in hospital from the injuries he sustained.

Ibrahim was reportedly accused of stealing the phone and allegedly tortured for hours until he died, only for the phone to later be found. What makes the story even more disturbing is the alleged lack of remorse, with one of the suspects reportedly seen smiling, while Ibrahim’s friend, whom he had gone to visit, was also accused of standing by without seeking help.

Given the level of brutality involved, it is difficult not to wonder whether there was more to the incident than just a missing phone. Ibrahim was reportedly doing well for himself, with his life and future ahead of him.
