@GeraldoRivera Good thing all our agents are trained. This won’t be an issue. Suppose it might be better if illegal aliens stopped trying to run over Federal officers using vehicles as a weapon.
@JungleBall_2 None of us should be surprised. @henrymcmaster is not, and has never been a leader. Hell, all he had to do all along is whatever Ron DeSantis did in Florida, and he was too incompetent to even follow that road map. I agree with your points on the Graham situation.
THEY BLEW IT ON PURPOSE! South Carolina Republicans had the golden opportunity after the 2020 census to lock in a rock-solid 7-0 congressional map and crush Jim Clyburn's gerrymandered safe seat for good. Instead, Governor Henry McMaster, House Speaker Murrell Smith, Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey, and the rest of the feckless GOP leadership in the General Assembly played it safe, passed a watered-down map that barely shored up Nancy Mace's 1st District, and left us stuck with a vulnerable 6-1 split.
Fast forward to 2026, Trump himself is twisting arms, McMaster finally calls a special session under pressure, the House actually steps up and passes a map to deliver the knockout blow to Clyburn, and what do the Senate cowards do? They tank it. Shane Massey leads the retreat, joined by spineless Republicans who folded like cheap lawn chairs rather than finishing the job. Larry Grooms and others pointed fingers, but the blame starts at the top with McMaster's delayed action and the Senate's pathetic failure to seize the moment when the Supreme Court opened the door.
This incompetence is why South Carolina still wasting resources defending a lone Democrat in a deep-red state while national Dems laugh.
SC had the trifecta, the data, the momentum after 2020, and the votes now. Instead of bold leadership, we got hesitation, infighting, and excuses.
South Carolina Republicans deserve better than this timid, self-sabotaging crew. Name names and primary the weak links in 2028 if they can't grow a spine. Time to stop snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Republicans who voted Nay (against advancing redistricting):
➡️Shane Massey (R-Edgefield, Senate Majority Leader) Led opposition with a strong speech.
➡️Sean Bennett (R-Dorchester)
➡️George "Chip" Campsen (R-Charleston/Isle of Palms)
➡️Richard Cash (R-Anderson) — Cited early voting already underway as a key reason.
➡️Ronnie Cromer (R)
➡️Tom Davis (R-Beaufort)
➡️Greg Hembree (R-Horry)
➡️Harvey Peeler (R)
➡️Luke Rankin (R)
➡️Everett Stubbs (R)
➡️Ed Sutton (R)
➡️Jeff Zell (R)
12 Republicans joined all Democrats in opposition, effectively killing the effort for 2026
This was the decisive vote in the special session.
@ShaykhSulaiman Even if this were true, which it is undoubtedly not, thanks for the target list update. We will make sure this gets communicated to @PeteHegseth !
🚨Ok I’m going to give you what I can from SC
Lots of crazy stuff right now
Talked to a former staff member early word is massive heart attack. Has had blood pressure issues since 40’s. I’m told
Behind the scenes politically in SC is bedlam. I’ve been on the phone all night.
Lots of names are being thrown around in circles. I’ve not talked to these people personally
Mark lynch who ran Agaist Lindsey.
Nancy Mace
John Warren ran for Govenor 2024
Andre Bauer former Lt Gov
Lt Gov currently Pam Evette who just lost to AG to replace McMaster as governor
I’m sure more will come out.
Those Gov and Trump like for appointment
Bauer
Evette
Mace
These are guesses.
I’m sure Trump will have a huge say as to who McMaster appoints
Gov McMaster will appoint the seat and then a special election for a new primary then general election.
The time table will be set by Gov after mourning has taken place. But no (real) time table because we are over a 100 before general election . However even after someone is appointed a special election primary will take place. As will a special general election
These are early real discussions in SC because all of you will wake up to crazy shit. ✊🏾 again this is from convos had tonight and what’s being thrown around.
Regardless we should pray for Lindsey’s family and staff and supporters.
