I’m American. I broke my leg last year and had surgery, I think I paid $400 max out of pocket for it. I get it’s different for everyone but there’s also many misconceptions. I work in tech, so my company covers 100% of the insurance and puts $2k a year into has for other expenses. I pay a couple hundred a month to add my wife and son to my insurance. All I’m saying is we pay for insurance and they pay more in taxes.

It’s not even what money can buy. In America, you have a job, job gives you health insurance. You get better care with zero wait in America. I hate when people say free healthcare as they pay much more in taxes. Both have their benefits so not sure why people debate it or care. I’ve been to almost every country in Europe and have heard the good and bad. We in the USA have our good and bad.
