A portion of Scenic Highway 98, north of County Road 1, will be impassable to through traffic beginning at 8:00 AM on Monday, September 9, 2024, until 5:00 PM on Friday, September 13, for drainage improvements.

🌩️ While we are in a bit of a lull at the moment, we do expect another round of showers and storms to develop late tonight and into Saturday morning. Some storms could become severe with damaging winds, hail, and a tornado or two remain as the main threats.
We are monitoring closely for two potential rounds of severe weather on Thursday⬇️
- 1st round: Between 7am-3pm Thursday as a complex of storms pushes across the area.
-2nd round: Around midnight Thursday-10am Friday as another intense complex moves into the region.
Traffic Advisory for Saturday, May 11th
S. Bancroft and Johnson Avenue will be closed from 12 noon Saturday until 12 a.m. Sunday for the Rotary Steak Cook-Off.
Crews will begin setting up the event at noon, and the gates will open to the public at 7p.m.
As of 1:30, Alabama Power says there are about 12,000 without power in the area. Everyone please be safe. Their crews will be working in areas where it is safe to do so.
