So here I am reading about the tragedy of the flood and these little sweet girls from Camp Mystic and my heart breaks for their families. I’m about to weep. And then as I scroll it’s all hate, and division and blaming this person and that organization and I just want to say SHUT UP and let people grieve. Where is your heart? What has happened to your soul that you want to make this about politics or your personal agenda when families will never see their precious little girls in this life again. The only agenda we should have is to grieve with those who are grieving, help those who are hurting and pray for a miracle.
Yes, it’s awesome when a college athlete can buy a car for a parent but this has been going on long before NIL…thankfully, now it can be celebrated on social media without triggering an NCAA investigation 🤣🤣
Good luck to the 60 players picked in the NBA Draft over the next two nights. But to quote the late, great Jerry West: “The goal shouldn’t be to get drafted by the NBA. It should be to STAY in the NBA.”
When Dean Smith passed away in 2015, his estate, at his behest, sent 180 former UNC players a check for $200 with the notation “Dinner out.” Coach Smith was the ultimate transformational coach. 🤯⤵️
Pet peeve: Telling others not under your supervision what to do.
Also: NIL is not exclusive to the NCAA despite what “pundits” keep suggesting. Caitlin will bring her huge fan base with her to the WNBA and she’ll make even more 💰
Thoughts on Prez Crow’s rhetoric ⤵️
1) why should certain athletes be ok redistributing $ to “smaller” sports? Aren’t we against socialism? 😳
2) fine don’t make them employees but how abt sharing some revenue?
3) NIL is great but doesn’t address unfair pay for play prohibitions
Best personal finance book ever…
“Don’t Buy Stuff You Cannot Afford”
Length: 1 page
Cost: $0.00
Summary: See book title 😂
#SNL@amypoehler@SteveMartinToGo
1) schools are not “hiring” col athletes…collectives are paying 💰
2) NCAA has spent millions to avoid athletes becoming employees
3) once col athletes=employees, they’ll get multi year deals so schools can fire but $ guaranteed
4) athletes getting paid is a way better system
NCAA’s approach to NIL has been to get it off the books. Better than pre NIL but still not optimal. Rev sharing makes sense & is most fair…
1) $ from pie that already exists
2) puts schools back in control of recruiting
3) contracts w schools so players can trust.
@JordanAckerMI
Here we have Trent Dilfer, UAB head coach who hired every assistant coach and player, failing to acknowledge that mistakes are a TEAM EFFORT and taking zero responsibility. And illustrating this “coaching method”like 2 year old. 😡
Great time talking NIL and the state of college athletics w you, @debbieantonelli and Coach Painter. The entire clinic was a testament to the commitment coaches have to the game and to improving the experience for all, especially the players. Honored to participate. 👊
S/o to @Ed_OBannon & Sonny Vaccaro for exposing the hypocrisy, the unfairness, the illegality—and doing something about it.
College athletes who are about to receive EA royalty checks should know the history. 👊
Imagine if college athletes had a body that represented its interests, were as well-funded as the NCAA and could produce its own lobbying toolkit. And had a leader like Marvin Miller 🤔
The NCAA tried “solving” NIL through complete control: unrealistic prohibitions, third parties, federal lobbying, on and on.
Much better solution: less regulation, fair negotiation.

I will never go to the draft as a coach unless my player personally invites me and says Coach.. I want you there! Draft night is about the player and his family!!! Its not a photo op for me to post on IG to help with recruiting. ✊🏾🖤
Honored to present at @JayBilasCamp Coaches Leadership Program on NIL, FinLit and impacting players—and really humbled by @JayBilas’s generous introduction. He captured my WHY better than I ever could‼️ 🙏
