Co-op crews are out in it this morning.
Ice is a slow motion disaster. It slowly accumulates, weighing down lines & trees.
Even after freezing rain stops, that weight, compounded by wind gusts, continues to stress the system.
Please keep these crews in your prayers!
One of our linemen shared his hard hat — completely iced over from Winter Storm Fern.
🧊 Ice may look harmless, but it’s dangerous: Just ½ inch of ice can add up to 500 lbs to a power line.
Ice buildup can snap trees and branches.
🛠️ It makes already tough work even harder.
Safety always comes first. We’re out there when it’s safe, working for you.

Our crews are actively working to restore power following severe winter weather, and they begin by building restoration plans starting at the source. If electricity can’t travel from the generating plant to your local substation, it can’t be delivered to your neighborhood or your street.
