#Blackstudents are tired of #BHM & the way it is celebrated in schools. It is performative and tokenizing! When we move into a place of honouring Black excellence & joy not only in our schools but in our classrooms regularly, there will be no need for your assemblies.
How many would agree that although well intentioned, #TPAs are 100% performative and only evaluate the aong and dance that #teachers put together for that day. You know you have a fraud system when #badteachers can’t be sniffed out or removed and student well being is not #1
Favourite moment of 2023 was my contribution to the planning & execution of the #Blackinternshipprogram offered through @yrdsb in partnership with @YorkUniversity Together we reimagined what co-op could look like for Black students in a way that spoke to their unique identities
As we reflect on 2023, let us walk into new year with a new found appreciate for love one another and appreciate and celebrate our differences. Cantering humanity needs to breathe life into our day to day actions. Sending love and prosperity for 2024! Follow @blspeaking for gems
@anna_lippman So proud of YorkU students and staff…we all need to to decide what side of history we hope to be sit on. When we look back our grandchildren will ask “what did you do?” #FreeGaza#IStandWithPalastine

We can only blame the #ontariocurriculum for being Eurocentric for so long. Eventually we have to ask ourselves, what have we been doing to make the curriculum in our #classrooms more inclusive. #antiracismeducation starts with #teachers find #resources >>https://t.co/hkmMQPmQCN
The most important thing #teachers can bring to their classroom is not the engaging slideshows, YouTube videos or Kahoots, it’s #care. With a genuine desire to see students fiercely #confident, #successfully & #empowered, #antiracism work naturally becomes embedded in what we do.
Today is #BellLetsTalk day. Let’s continue these impt. conversations, raise awareness and help #endthestigma surrounding mental health together, today and every day. Mental health belongs to all of us and know that you are not alone.
