We are pleased to share that Form Energy has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (@ENERGY) to deploy an 85 MW/8500 MWh multi-day battery system in Maine - the largest energy storage project by energy capacity announced yet in the world.

As part of the Power Up New England initiative, Form’s multi-day battery system will be located at the site of a former paper and tissue mill in Lincoln, Maine and will enhance the reliability, sustainability, and affordability of New England’s electric grid, while driving job growth and economic benefits in the local Lincoln community.

Modvion is a 🇸🇪 Swedish company that has invented the technology to use timber as the material for wind turbine towers. 

The company reports that opting for a timber tower over a steel one results in a remarkable 90 % reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. Furthermore, when the turbine reaches the end of its lifespan, the tower's modular segments can be effectively reused, offering an environmentally friendly approach.

A 30 mt turbine was already built, now a 100 mt tower should be completed this year and the next step is to reach 150 mt.

We have the solutions and only need to implement them!
