It seems a small thing now, but when @CILIPinfo submitted a formal complaint under the Conservatives Party Code of Conduct for rebranding their social media platform as "Fact Check UK" we got a letter from their Chairman asserting that lying wasn't a ethical issue. He was wrong.
#Library#Ethics are rooted in Human Rights. Any assault on international Human Rights accords is an assault on hard-won civil liberties. History shows that Governments cannot be trusted to self-regulate when it comes to the freedoms of their people.
