@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet I will counter this before I go only because I think it's important, violent was never important, in humans at least. There has been a lot of alpha male talk and all this about returning to the natural state, the natural state is far gentler and more equal than a lot of ppl think
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet -Pandemic, everyone started consuming such rapid fire content, only the most extreme grabs attention and views, so only the most extreme can be performed, and the most extreme becomes the baseline for what a person should be. Looksmaxing as an example
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet -it hadn't originally been done to cater for men. I as a woman don't feel I can do much to uplift a woman outside of my bubble, to tell her she doesn't need to look or dress like that, people would still like her, she would still have a partner, she would still be attractive
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet I have complicated feelings about this. I get it if you're tempted to say this is me finding a way to void women of accountability, but the way I see it is all of this was *for* men to begin with. As much as women say they do it for themselves, they would never have started if-
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet But then on my end, it feels like women are being asked to control and limit the self expression of other women in order to be feel safe, you know? In order to convince men I'm a real person, I need to get other women to cover up more. Simplified take, I know
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet I think I'm probably older than you, but I have seen in the youngest generation everyone just devolving into weird parodies of themselves. I'm honestly really surprised by it and I have absolutely no idea how to address it
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet I suppose this is why I feel it negates it. Myself and people I know say it sincerely, but people can go "based on my experiences on you as a group, I don't think you mean it", and that feels like it puts me and others in danger. It feels very "no doesn't really mean no"
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet I dont think people control their beliefs, and I dont ask anyone changes how they view anyone else.
But if you recognise this, can I ask why you dont think the OP reinforces it? That women are trying to break away from that, and people are going "no, this is still what they are"
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet I agree, it has gotten out of hand lately. A lot of women's spaces do discuss this, that yes we can all do what we want, but that doesn't make it harmless, and we should look into why we want it in the first place
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet I think it's genuinely received differently, I think what men interpret as signals to them, women view as a dress code. Like a uniform that a good and proper person would wear. Not that they don't think it looks nice, but not sexy.
(Excluding club wear etc)
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet Being upfront, I am wildly biased about this, but I suppose my feelings are that one isn't actually uncontrollable? If you disagree I'd be curious, but I think treating men with caution and nervousness is involuntary, I think approaching women with unwanted sexual energy isn't
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet -Considered required of women. That u don't have a place in society unless you conform to some of these things. Women dont do them expecting to be sexualised, they do them expecting to be deemed acceptable+ worthy. I think theres a large divide in the way men + women interpret it
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet It is a constant thing to see men say that women basically fake modesty, that they're all whores with a price, that "no" is a challenge, and that attitude is on the rise. Posts like this are used to call out women for saying they don't want something when clearly they secretly do
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet So for me, and I'm aware this isn't true everywhere, I step outside and see a world full of normal women, doing normal things, acting normal, with normal social media photos. Yes, sex sells, and it absolutely saturates every aspect of the media, but media isn't our entire life
@9b4862j4fs@esjesjesj@PrisonPlanet But you're actively being told some people don't want that. It's acknowledged in the original post.
While I understand what you're saying, I disagree that it's all men see, everywhere. Having said that, I imagine where you live changes things
