@ahcarney@girardinl Lauren & I connected offline. I misread her comment & came to the defense of someone who I respect greatly & who has an opinion that is worth hearing.
@girardinl You're on the same side as the author. His piece talked about several things beyond posting salaries that are necessary to address inequities in hiring. Things that require much more commitment than simply posting salaries.
@girardinl I can say your comment was uninformed and mean without thinking "you" are uninformed and mean. I don't think you are ... I respect your right to disagree. But too many Twitter discussions default to labeling people as things they are not b/c they disagree.
@girardinl You can debate w/o labeling someone you don't know. The author has devoted his career to identifying & placing people of color, women, & LGBTQ in leadership roles -- at equitable salaries. Calling him an oppressor b/c he disagrees w/ you is uninformed & mean.

The Biden econ team is quietly telling nonprofits that high earners will up their charitable giving to avoid paying the higher cap gains taxes the president has proposed. Mini-scoop: https://t.co/k4O16Burgt
You have plenty of opportunities to talk about your work and values. But there are times when you can make a more powerful – and authentic – statement by supporting and lifting up the voices of others.
This is one of those times.
