The Stolen Vehicle Operation has partnered with multiple surrounding law enforcement agencies. We thank them and we also thank @OHSUKnight for their supporting collaboration. The impact for the community is immense. January 2023 vs 2024 saw a 56% reduction of stolen vehicles.
While working TPM at the NE 92nd & Halsey St. camp sites, we located a stolen bicycle. With help from the community, we identified the victim and returned it to him. Two individuals at the camp site were taken to jail on outstanding warrants.
Today we patrolled the trail, handing out water and encouraging folks to stay cool. We partnered with Central City Concern Clean Start and helped Skyler leave the street and enter shelter with SSCC (Street Services Coordination Center) assistance. Stay cool out there - it’s hot!
After dropping 1 off at Deflection an hour earlier for smoking fentanyl at NE 122/Glisan in front of the BottleDrop, we returned to the same spot and witnessed 2 more doing exactly the same thing! They were also contacted and taken to Deflection.
2 people openly smoking fentanyl at NE 122/Glisan in front of the BottleDrop. 1 had multiple warrants from Clackamus County and booked into jail. The other was eligible for deflection and chose that option instead of jail - we will continue to interdict open drug use in the area.
We partnered with the @MultnomahCoDA to take down a criminal ring targeting cannabis businesses. Today, one of our precinct detectives stood with DA Vasquez to talk about the case. Two suspects are now indicted - and we continue to fight this crime in our community.
Today at NE 122nd & Oregon (across from the BottleDrop), East Precinct Neighborhood Response Team observed two individuals openly smoking methamphetamine. Both were eligible for deflection and transported to the Coordinated Care Pathway Center at SE 10th & Sandy in lieu of jail.
Yesterday, East Precinct day shift patrol located a stolen vehicle near 111 & Glisan. The driver fled, was spiked, ditched the car, and ran - but was quickly caught in a perimeter. He now faces multiple felonies. Great work by all involved!

Today, while addressing a neighborhood nuisance in the area of SE 75/SE Flavel, the East Neighborhood Response Team contacted a subject who illegally possessed a firearm, 23grams of Meth and 7grams fentanyl. The subject was booked into jail on the appropriate charges.

Good afternoon! As expected, we are seeing large gatherings today in Portland. PPB Dialogue Officers in white uniform shirts are serving as a content-neutral points of contact for participants. Also, officers on bikes, motorcycles, and in cars are on hand to ensure safety.
NE 100 / Irving. After multiple community complaints of drug dealing. East NRT worked with the neighborhood District Attorney Program (MAAP) and wrote a warrant on the tent. Two were detained. Inside we seized 2 guns, multiple scales, fentanyl, significant money. Charges pending.
These two guns were seized from a vehicle that eluded East Precinct and FIT officers near NE 118th Ave and NE Glisan St last night. We're investigating to see if they were used in any shootings.
The driver of this stolen SUV rammed a PPB vehicle and drove recklessly trying to elude officers on a wheel worn down to the rim. He crashed into a parked car at SE 34/Insley and was arrested. He had a gun in his lap. No injuries. Charges pending!
East, Central, North along with @ClackCoSheriff@MultCoSO conducted a two day Holiday Retail theft mission resulting in 40 arrests and over 3,000 in merchandise recovered. Thank you to our partners for their assistance in a successful mission.
