Google and Medium have both just released updated policies identifying and restricting the use of AI text on their platforms...

April 9th @Google Updated its Merchant Center requiring merchants to identify AI-generated text:

"will require merchants to disclose text content that was created using generative AI."

April 10th @Medium Updated its AI Policy not allowing AI-generated content to be behind its paywall:

"Medium is for human storytelling, not AI-generated writing."

That study has some serious issues...

1. Samples size of 91 (taken from a student forum)
2. Compared ESL students university entrance essay to a native English grade 8 dataset
3. Called GPT-4 polished essays as "human" when they should be classified as AI
4. May 15, 2023 and has not been updated.
