There are four Gospels.
Matthew, Mark, and Luke share so much material that scholars call them the "Synoptics" — seen together.
Then there is John.
John omits 90% of what the other three include.
John includes 90% that none of them have.
It was written last, and it reads like someone who has spent 60 years thinking about what the others didn't say.
A thread on why the Gospel of John is unlike anything else in Scripture. 🧵
The Child Martyr of the Eucharist in China.....
Little Li was a brave 10 year old girl from 1950s communist China.
When soldiers descrated her church, imprisoned the priest, and scattered the Blessed Sacrament on the floor like thrash, most people stayed away in fear. But not Little Li.
Every day the courageous child sneaked into the locked church, knelt in silent adoration for a full hour(preparing her heart), then reverently consumed one Host from the floor with her tongue.. saving Jesus from further sacrilege.
She did this again and again, till the last Host remained!!
On that final day, a soldier caught her. He s*it her. Yet even as she fell, wounded, she crawled forward, pressed her tongue to the floor, and received her Lord, one last time before dying.
Her heroic love for Jesus in the Eucharist moved hearts across the world. A little mustard seed of faith that grew into a towering tree of inspiration.
Little Li, pray for us, especially for those facing persecution for their faith today. Amen
@JSB1965169844@hodgetwins At 57 that has been my experience as well - a hard pill to swallow indeed. It destroyed everything I was taught and led to believe. But now with my eyes open I cannot unsee it. Europa answered all the questions I had about what I was taught (a lot didn’t make sense starting w/6M)
