As i was saying.. second cancelled bus of the day @yorkbus. At this rate the train might actually be better.. why do sustainable choices have to be so much harder than the alternatives?
Surprisingly one person got on / off around tadcaster. Everybody else wants to go from York to Leeds. Why does the journey take 70 mins rather than 30 minutes these days?!
Completely packed single decker coastliner @yorkbus going to Leeds the scenic route whilst several nearly empty rail replacement buses go to Leeds the fast route. Just adding insult to injury! We want the @citizap back!
So we analysed Companies House data to plot each suspicious corporate PSC onto a map.
Here, for example, is the Isle of Man. Over a thousand companies hiding their ownership by unlawfully listing an Isle of Man company as their PSC, instead of showing the actual individual owner:
This is exactly what Musk did in the U.K. during the riots in August. Trying to inflame a situation to stir up division and disrupt government. This has to stop.
I’m very aware people think the threat of climate change is hysterical and overblown. But then there’s this. This is fact. A graph from the University of Reading. Does this look okay to you?
2024 is on track to be the hottest year ever recorded.
This year, we’ve suffered the hottest day, and the hottest seas, in the history books.
The climate crisis is here. We can’t postpone protection. We must adapt – now.
Doubling down on fossil fuels is absurd.
The clean energy revolution is here.
No group, no business, and no government can stop it.
Leaders at #COP29 can and must ensure it is fair and fast enough to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C.

#ClimateAction is not optional, it’s an imperative.
Both are indispensable to a liveable world for all humanity and a prosperous future for every nation on Earth.

What a find! Parkinson, Brotherton, the Treasures exhibition and the Gallery are all so amazing and beautiful - can’t believe I was oblivious to their existence for so long! Gotta come back with more time soon.
Great to lecture on history of mathematics earlier today: on printing press and the 1482 Ratdolt & Regiomontanus edition of Euclid’s Elements - when writing last year I did not know @UniversityLeeds had its very own copy! Pleasure to see that in the Treasures of @TheBrotherton.
