[trans] Donation 🤍
🎤: Recently, there was news about you making merit and donating around 1.5 million Baht?
🐰: Yes. Actually, it's a temple that I've had the opportunity to visit for a long time. I previously told the Abbot that if there was ever an opportunity to donate toward building a hospital, he should let me know. I felt like I hadn't made merit to the fullest on my birthday yet, so I took this as my opportunity to do so this year.
🎤: Why did you specifically choose to support physical therapy?
🐰: Well, that hospital is newly built and they've been constructing several buildings from inpatient to outpatient departments. Right now, they have reached the phase where they want to build a dedicated physical therapy building. The timing was perfect, so I felt like I wanted to contribute.
🎤: Did you receive information showing that they are really in short supply and in urgent need?
🐰: Yes. My family had a trip planned to Chiang Mai anyway, so I asked them to take some photos of the site to see what the actual situation was like and if they were really building it. I wanted to be absolutely sure before making the donation. We studied it carefully first, and since everything was genuine, we went ahead with the donation.
🎤: Have you had the chance to visit the location yourself yet?
🐰: Not yet. I am currently looking for an opportunity to go visit.
🎤: How did the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff react when you made the donation?
🐰: They were very glad and thanked us so much. They had actually been fundraising for quite a long time because the hospital is located very far from the city center. We felt it was a great window of opportunity for us to help out. They are building it one structure at a time because the area initially had nothing. They are slowly constructing each building and gradually renovating the older, heavily worn-out facilities.
🎤: So physical therapy is highly important and sorely needed over there?
🐰: Yes, it is necessary. The current building space isn't that large and it's quite compact. Having a separate building specifically for physical therapy allows the other areas of the hospital to be utilized to their maximum benefit.
🎤: How does it feel to be so fulfilled with merit and happiness as a giver?
🐰: It is incredibly fulfilling and heartwarming. But our main goal is simply to help people. Knowing that the location is quite remote and being able to play a small part in helping them makes me very happy.
🎤: "Handsome and kind, handsome and generous", do you still hold on to this title? Are you keeping it?
🐰: I don't really look at it as a title. Both my family and I genuinely love making merit. Whenever there is an opportunity, we always do it regularly.
🎤: Do you have plans to help other remote or high-need areas if they request assistance?
🐰: Not at the moment, but if an opportunity arises, I am always ready to help. I want to help.
🎤: Win, when you want to donate to a cause, how do you filter or screen them? Since so many places are in need, and sometimes there are people with hidden agendas or scams.
🐰: I prefer donating to something tangible. For example, if we are helping to build something, I want to see that it's actually being built and see that previous donations have turned into physical progress. It gives me confidence, and I can trust that the money we contribute will truly yield the maximum benefit.🤍
