A joint delegation of Supreme Court advocates and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has approached the Parliament Street Police Station in New Delhi, demanding the registration of an FIR over speeches and activities at the Jantar Mantar protest held under the banner of the "Cockroach Janata Party" (@CJP_for_India ) in connection with the NEET agitation.

The delegation has accused comedian Kunal Kamra of making derogatory remarks about Bhagwan Shri Ram, a performer sang lyrics calling for the removal of Hindu idols while declaring that "only Allah's name will remain". The delegation also accused actor Prakash Raj of glorifying the terms "terrorist" and "Pakistani" while exhorting youth to rise against the system.

The complaint also highlights presence of Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas, father of Delhi riots accused Umar Khalid and a former SIMI member, raising concerns about extremist influence. It urges authorities to investigate the funding of the protest and examine whether there are links with banned organisations.

The delegation, comprising senior Supreme Court advocates including Adv. Makarand D. Adkar, Adv. @SachdevaAmita , Adv. Mayank Dwivedi, Adv. Atul Sharma, Adv. Keshari Satya, along with Hindu Janajagruti Samiti representatives @KS_HJS and @shriram_l , has urged Delhi Police to take suo motu action in accordance with the Supreme Court's directions on hate speech in the Shaheen Abdullah v. Union of India case.

The complaint seeks registration of offences under Sections 299, 196, 152 and 353 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS, 2023) and also calls for an investigation under the UAPA if evidence supports unlawful or extremist links.

This Open Legal Notice is issued on behalf of concerned Hindu citizens of India, including me, who are deeply outraged and hurt by your company’s persistent, deliberate, and insensitive conduct that repeatedly insults Hindu religious sentiments, ancient Indian heritage, and national icons for commercial gains.

Facts:

1. Your latest offensive campaign for “Amazon Now” features a person dressed and portrayed as Aryabhata - the revered ancient Indian mathematician-astronomer, reducing this towering civilizational figure to a comic corporate mascot desperately “searching for zero delivery charges”. This trivialization and mockery of a national saint-scholar has caused widespread anguish across the Hindu community.

2. This is not an isolated incident but part of a long and disturbing pattern of cultural insensitivity and arrogance displayed by Amazon. Your platforms have repeatedly hosted, promoted, and profited from products and content that blatantly insult Hindu Deities (Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi, on toilet seats, yoga mats, footwear), the Indian National Flag on doormats, and other sacred symbols.

3. Even after public outrage, police complaints, and your previous apologies (including in the Tandav web series produced by Amazon Prime Video), you have failed to mend your ways and continue to exhibit utter disregard for Indian cultural and religious sensitivities.

Legal Grounds:
Your acts amount to wilful, deliberate and malicious conduct and squarely attract criminal and civil liability under:
- Section 299 BNS (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class).
- Section 196 BNS (promoting enmity).
- Section 197 BNS (imputations prejudicial to national integration).
- Section 302 BNS (deliberate intent to wound religious feelings).
- And other relevant Acts.

Demands:
You are hereby called upon to immediately comply with the following within 48 hours of receipt of this notice:
1. Withdraw, delete, and permanently remove all versions of the offensive “Aryabhata - Amazon Now” advertisement from every platform (YouTube, Instagram, X, website, TV, etc.).

2. Issue a public, unconditional, and unqualified apology on all official Amazon India social media handles, website homepage, and leading national newspapers, explicitly acknowledging the hurt caused to Hindu sentiments and India’s heritage.

3. Furnish a written undertaking that no future advertisements, campaigns, or product listings on your platforms will ever trivialize, demean, or mock Indian historical figures, Hindu deities, or national symbols.

Final Warning:
Take notice that failure to comply with the above demands within the stipulated 48 hours shall force us to initiate all available legal remedies without any further notice.

This notice is issued without prejudice to all other rights and remedies available under law.
