the namjoon & hobi situation is WAY more complex than the extremes people are reducing it to. yes, posting chris brown was incredibly stupid and insensitive. i genuinely don’t understand how neither of them stopped to think about how that would look.

but criticism ≠ immediately labeling them abusers or saying they support abuse. there’s a difference between listening to/being musically inspired by someone and endorsing everything that person has done. if we’re going to have a conversation about separating art from the artist like we’ve done with many of our own favorite artists, then actually have that conversation and apply it.

you can think what they did was stupid, disappointing and deserving of criticism without automatically assigning them the worst possible intentions. this isn’t black and white, and twitter turning it into either “they did nothing wrong” or “they support abusers” completely kills any actual nuanced conversation about it, and the importance of what CHRIS BROWN’s track record is.
