i am most impressed with just how many people are lapping up whatever Dan's writing - i have not seen traction of this kind on someone's writing

specially of someone who became famous purely because of their writing (i am assuming this because i only know of him as a writer)

"work-life is not a balance - its a flywheel"

once you get momentum in one aspect of life - it fuels the other aspects of life - you do well at work, youre better with family, youre healthier

i have really hoped that this is true but i haven't been able to work the flywheel out quite right yet - just like Ira here

when i am my most productive workwise - health gets traded off

when i am spending enough time with family and friends - i can only focus on that

so this makes me think - its not that you can constantly get better at everything all at once

you will always need to prioritise and be focused on one thing

but you need to have other threads - other aspects of life - that are just alive - and not dying

when youre obsessed with work - you make great progress. during this time you only show up at family and health stuff

then when family takes precedence - you only show up at work and health - keep the flywheel spinning

every time the top most priority is where you make the most progress - and other aspects remain stagnated

i misunderstood the flywheel. i thought you can push and make crazy progress in all walks of life all at once.

when whats possible is to push in one walk of life at a time - while keeping the flywheel spinning in other aspects of life - just show up

hey @kepano,

my obsidian directory lives in iCloud
i use two macs

i was editing a doc on mac1
and then opened mac2 to check something quickly
obsidian was open on mac2

so, the doc just got deleted from mac1

it's happened with me twice

how do i tackle this?
