Today I received the news that the Madom R/T has been selected for the final of the Brazilian leg of the Hot Wheels World Tour. Hoping it will win to get a scale model next year! You can read the cars history in the comments!

One of the most elusive Brazilian prototypes is the Zuffo, built by Luizão Racing. The car features a Stock Car-ish chassis with a V8 engine, but others than an appearance as an exhibition car during the 2014 500 km of São Paulo there is no record of it racing nor in publications

Last round of the Campeonato Gaúcho de Super Turismo brought the most unlikely line up of Gallardo GT3s ever: #111 LP520 with a Ferrari F136 V8 engine, #81 LP560 with a Ford Coyote V8 and #299 LP600+ still retaining the original Lambo V10. Never underestimate gaúcho engineering.

The FNM Tanto-Faz (Whatever) got it's nicknames from the fact that was difficult to tell which side was the front. Built by Renato Peixoto from a FNM JK, the car lost 300 kg from the donnor car and finished 2nd overall the 1961 Mil Milhas with Aylton Varanda and Mário Olivetti.

A unexpected entry to the 1970 Copa Brasil was the Nissan Z432R of Masami Kawashima and "Z driver" Haruto Yanagida, quite misplaced among the Ferrari, Lola and Porsche prototypes. They arrived for the 3rd/4th races scoring two 7th places, always behind the Fúria of Jaime Silva.

A Lot of people are linking the recently leaked Aston Martin prototype hypercar to the former single seater prototypes from Can-Am and Interserie. To me, it bears a resemblance to Tarso Marques M1 Hypercar and to a lesser extent the Sigma-Tubarão XI.

The car was supposed to get a Twin Turbo 3.8 V6 MIVEC, EMCO gearbox and LMP1 Wheels, and the chassis was even built. However, the 2008 crisis led to reduced grids, and the Eclipse body was to fitted to the Stock Car chassis, giving a glimpse of what could have been.

Other than Grand Am and later IMSA, the concept of Daytona Prototypes has surfaced in a few other places. Specially in Brazil, were in the early 2000's the Classe 1 (top class of Endurance Racing) was more of a recollection of what could be raced 🧶

Today I was reading some "old news" about Toyota Racing the Hilux Champ in Philippines, which brought me the same vibe of the time Agrale decided to turn the military Marruá into a racing truck and nearly got the Championships in it's debut year.
