Prime Minister Balen Shah, while addressing today's meeting of the House of Representatives, stated that Nepal has also encroached upon Indian territory. This statement is completely wrong, anti-national, irresponsible, and dangerously harmful .

Such a statement from the Prime Minister has embarrassed and angered patriotic Nepali people who have consistently stood firmly in defense of Nepal's national sovereignty, territorial integrity, independence, and dignity. It has also undermined Nepal's long-standing campaign to bring the Nepali territories of Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh, Kalapani, and Susta—areas encroached upon by India—effectively under Nepal's sovereign jurisdiction.

As early as 2007, the Joint Technical Committee (JTC) on Nepal-India boundary issues had prepared strip maps for all border areas by mutual agreement, except for the Kalapani and Susta sectors. Subsequently, in the Joint Working Group (JWG) on boundary issues formed in 2014, Nepal maintained the position that it would sign the strip maps only after agreement had been reached on all border areas. Furthermore, the Joint Commission (JC) at the Foreign Ministers' level, which met in Nepal in 2019, decided that the boundary dispute would be discussed through a mechanism led by the Foreign Secretaries of the two countries.

Since then, Nepal has continued diplomatic efforts to implement this position, including incorporating a map encompassing Nepal's entire territory into the Constitution itself. Despite these facts being so clear, the Prime Minister's presentation of such a sensitive issue in this manner deserves the strongest criticism and condemnation.

The Prime Minister must immediately apologize to the Nepali people and to Parliament for this , correct his statement, and ensure that it is removed from the parliamentary record. This is not a matter that can simply be forgotten or dismissed. Therefore, all patriotic forces must remain vigilant and organized.
