(SF driver): the moat’s not taste—it’s attention. the future is agentic agents

True. I am also in London. Just a simple table fan makes it comfortable enough. Growing up in small town in India during 90s with long power cuts makes this London summer feel like a breeze. Even two decades of living abroad in AC can’t take this super power away!
@bhavikmak20 Bollocks. I am posting this from London and there is no way that 34 degrees here is like 44 in Delhi.
And yes I have lived in the UK & India.

Baraat magic in Boca Grande. 🇺🇸🐎🇮🇳
The groom processed on a majestic white horse, and the bride in her stunning red lehenga riding alongside. The Gasparilla Inn turned into a full Indian shaadi celebration today.
Tradition and Florida sunshine with parade through town.
Have you seen a destination baraat like this? #Florida

When I was in grad school, I underlined and made notes in nearly every library book (~500) I ever took out. I remember a cohort mate saying it was rude. I saw it as helpful to the next reader. Imagine a student right now encountering my notes. It’s like phoning a friend for help.
@vfsglobalcare I could pay for the fee after repeated try but i could not upload my documents and did not have time to try multiple them. How can I file a formal complaint about it ? I tried to explain it at the time of appointment but I was still charged usd 99.
@vfsglobalcare@VFSGlobal I keep getting 429 error after repeatedly trying to pay the fee. Your customer service is nonexistent. The ONLY way to connect to customer-care is through https://t.co/5fQkQBjozh and there too you block the conversation after your generic reply. @UKVIgovuk
Milton Friedman died at 94. Ronald Coase at 102. Arnold Harberger is still alive at 101. I don't know which school of economics will ultimately turn out to be truest, but you should probably believe in the Chicago School if you want to live long enough to find out.
@vfsglobalcare, your website does not provide me with any information on how to access the dashboard, where I can pay the fee for biometric collection for a UK visa. I have already booked the appointment. You have listed X handle as the only contact to reach you. Please let me know how I can pay the fee. Also, please fix your website.

The mass replication studies published in Nature today are insane, exemplary and an enormous pile of work to improve science.
It's just so awesome how many people spent time on this in return to be 1/100 coauthors on a thing.
Just outstanding 🙌🙌🙌 1/
🚨Replication alert🚨
I'm pleased to announce that my replication of Moretti (2021) is now accepted as a comment at AER.
I find ten issues in the paper. My comment focuses on two major problems; in the appendix, I document eight (relatively) minor problems.

Reading Hal Varian’s 2018 paper on AI is a useful reminder: one can be wrong about the path of technology and still be right about the economics of technology. He did not foresee ChatGPT or the exact shape of the foundation-model era, but he understood early that AI would be about scarcity, firm boundaries, cloud infrastructure, data access, organizational capability, and market structure. That is a major intellectual achievement, and the paper remains one of the most insightful early economic readings of AI.

@soumitrashukla9 On point 3, the review process is also going to use the same technology that production process is using. The weight would then fall more on “taste” that should not take much time either. Totally agree on 1 and 2.
