While the Election Commission was considering the meeting proposal from the Members of Parliament after 4 PM today, it was informed by the Delhi Police DCP that the requested meeting was to involve a group of 240 MPs and was proposed to be held at the Parliament House Annexe. The Election Commission deemed this request unusual and unacceptable, as established protocol dictates that such meetings take place within the premises of the Election Commission of India. The ECI proposed sending its most senior executive officer to the meeting venue to receive the memorandum from the MPs—a step that would have been unprecedented in itself. However, this proposal was also rejected by the MPs.: Election Commission of India
Any political party may request a meeting with the Election Commission at any time; the Commission, in turn, may schedule the date and time for such a meeting based on convenience. This is a standard procedure: Election Commission of India
🚨 BLAST FROM THE PAST: Then Law Minister Kapil Sibal's 2013 Vote Deletion logic he needs to see himself😂
Back then, Sibal said voter deletion was HARDLY a BIG ISSUE:
> “You can any day go to the Electoral Registration Office and say, register us. We are here.”🤣
He explained deletions could happen if a voter:
• Moved away
• Was registered in another constituency
• Had died
His argument was simple: If your name disappears, go and get it restored🤡
Fast-forward to today.
Same guy now presents electoral-roll revision as an existential THREAT to democracy!!
So what changed, the voter list, or the politics around it?
@PrinceOfHimalya@ExSecular They were typical liberals who believed that only muslims can be victims. Gandhi faster only twice, both times to save muslims. He never fasted in Noakhali or during Moplah killings because he knew that he would die fasting but muslims wouldn't listen to him.
💥If the west didn't see animals as food on their plate, cut and prepared by mass industrialised machinery, you would also have maintained diversity.
Besides this is the same foolish "economist" who would mock 33 crore devi devtas without understanding that their diverse representations is what projected all different forms of lives as sacred and it was the Mandir ecosystem which protected the bio diversity.
Forget the tone, even the facts are f**ked up. India, might have been poor, but it never ate its tigers, and rhinos, and elephants. Indian tigers were hunted by sahibs from the country where you, The Economist, is based. It was colonialism that turned our tigers into trophies. Between 1850 and 1950, over 65,000 tigers were shot in India, according to estimates
@sanjayuvacha Lol its good- india choosing its own interests (like Making indigenous hsr trainset, using ECTS 2, giving contracts to indian companies)
Like lol did u think india would become forever dependent on japan for shinkansen.
The way indonesia's hsr is now forever dependent on china😂
@Fejos2529@sweet_muffinnn ...and rivers too that can't be fenced. What's meant is that now there's better vigil at border points and intruders are getting caught as happened in the case of 8Ukraines and an American recently while they crossed into Indian territory from Myanmar.
