Jesus is my Lord!
Whatever happens this election I will still have faith in Jesus.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake. Psalm 23
@rockreborn22@IMPERATORAUS Do you see your Calvinists, non-denominational, baptism, Presbyterian “church” mentioned in any of the 66 books?
Do you even see a list of your 66 books mentioned?
Again, weak arguments!
God bless you AJ!
@rockreborn22@IMPERATORAUS So saying Jesus will lead His Church to ALL TRUTH and interpreting as Jesus ain’t a liar is a “private interpretation“? 😂😂😂
I can say the same about your bud!
Do better AJ! 😂😁😉
@rockreborn22@EricMFriel@IMPERATORAUS If a Protestant says the same thing, are they telling the truth?
AJ, brother, can’t you seriously not have better argumentations? Is that the best you can do?
@rockreborn22@IMPERATORAUS The Church led by the Holy Spirit does! 😁 and I believe her! NOT YOU!
You should seriously have more faith in the Holy Spirit and in Jesus’ own words than your messily human understanding and theories! 😉
John 16:13
Matt 16:17-19
Matt 18:17
1 Thess 2:13
2 Thess 2:15
@rockreborn22@EricMFriel@IMPERATORAUS I had the Bible read to me since I was 5-6 and read it myself since around 7 or 8 and I am more Catholic today than you are a Protestant! 😆
@rockreborn22@IMPERATORAUS Last question so we are not waisting time since I know you won’t answer anyway:
If Paul taught Christians to hold to traditions delivered both orally and by letter (2 Thes 2:15), where does Scripture say that the oral apostolic traditions later ceased to be authoritative?
@rockreborn22@IMPERATORAUS That wasn’t my question! Focus please! 😉
Did Saint Paul follow Bible “Alone”?
Yes or no?
Did he follow all your 66 books!
Yes or no?
Let me make it easier: Did he accept only some sections of Daniel and rejected 2 Maccabees?
Yes or no?
@rockreborn22@HabitualLinest@IMPERATORAUS So you read 1 Tim 2:1-6 without TULIP in mind?
So all means ALL here? You don’t insert elect everywhere it doesn’t fit the unbiblical limited atonement?
Yes or no?
Well, another Cardinal has come out with a, shall we say, puzzling take on evangelization.
A few years ago, Cardinal Américo Aguiar, at the time auxiliary bishop of Lisbon, said that he and the other organizers of World Youth Day in his hometown had no interest in converting anyone to Christ.
Now Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco of Algeria has opined that “the Church is not there to convert” and “Christians should approach other religions through fraternity rather than seeking conversions.”
Excuse me, but…what?
Last time I checked, the Founder said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Sure sounds like conversion to me.
When St. Paul came to Corinth or Athens or Thessalonica, his purpose was not to listen or to form a discussion group but rather to declare an unnerving message: the euangelion (glad tidings) that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.
So impassioned is he for this work that he says, “I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:22); and “If I proclaim the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:16)!
Moreover, the entire thrust of the Second Vatican Council was toward bringing the Light of Christ to the peoples of the world (Lumen Gentium). And this missionary élan has given rise in the last few decades to the idea of a “new evangelization,” which is to say, a fresh declaration of the Lordship of Christ.
Quite obviously, no one thinks that this work of evangelization should be done in a brow-beating, overbearing, or disrespectful manner (proselytization), but for God’s sake, let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
If I really thought that the Church does not exist to bring people to Christ, then I would resign and get an honest job.
@rockreborn22@IMPERATORAUS And what did his books say?
That he found sola Scriptura to be an anti-biblical nonsense so he stopped following a man made 16th+ tradition?
@rockreborn22@IMPERATORAUS Funny how you misrepresent Hahn and have no other comments on the rest of the people I mentioned! 😆
Also, the whole Scriptures “alone” is a novel idea so why should trust it or you? 😉
Faith can be embodied in all cultures, because it does not identify itself with any of them in a specific one. It dwells within them, shaping them from within according to the “form” of Jesus Christ; that is, through charity, service and the filial recognition of God’s fatherhood. In this way, the Church draws from the various cultures all that is good, beautiful and true, in order to embody and transmit the message of the Gospel. #GeneralAudience
@rockreborn22@IMPERATORAUS So you read the Bible to confirm your Protestantism, aye?
Scott Hahn, Tim Stables, Jimmy Akin and others all knew the Bible yet they still became Catholic! Where is their “confirmation bias”?
