A new chapter in #Odisha’s infrastructure development begins with the approval of the ₹8,300 crore Coastal Highway from Rameshwar to Paradeep by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji. Spanning key coastal districts, this landmark project will strengthen connectivity, reduce travel time by nearly two and a half hours, and create new opportunities for tourism, trade, logistics and economic growth.
The Coastal Highway will accelerate the transformation of Odisha’s coastal economy, enhance regional connectivity and improve the quality of life for millions of people. It reflects the Government of India’s continued commitment to building world-class infrastructure in Odisha.
On behalf of the people of Odisha, I express my heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @nitin_gadkari Ji for their unwavering support and commitment towards the development and prosperity of our State.

Today, Odisha writes a defining chapter in its commitment to social justice and educational empowerment. Anchored in the principles of 'Antyodaya' and the transformative vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas', our Government stands unwavering in its resolve to ensure that the dividends of development reach every last citizen. Progress that bypasses the weakest is no progress at all.
For 79 years after Independence, meritorious students from ST, SC and SEBC communities were systematically denied their rightful place in professional education. For decades, those in power looked away, allowing this injustice to fester unchallenged, robbing generation after generation of deserving students of their dreams and dignity.
That changes today. Within just two years of the people's mandate, and with their overwhelming blessings, our Government has delivered what others did not in eight decades. From the 2026–27 academic session, rightful reservations in Engineering, Medical and other professional courses are decisively enhanced, with ST reservation raised to 22.5%, SC reservation to 16.25%, and a historic 11.25% reservation introduced for SEBC students for the very first time.
This is not merely a policy decision. It is an act of providing justice long overdue. Our Government is committed to ensure every deserving student in Odisha dreams without limits, achieves without barriers, and rises to build a Samruddha Odisha and a Viksit Bharat.
