Karl: Republicans are going to make you the poster child for the Democratic Party.
Mamdani: Let them. We don’t have to ask ourselves what life looks like if a socialist wins. I won last November, and over the course of these last six months, what we’ve delivered for working people are the very things we were told were impossible.
We’ve delivered free child care for two-year-olds for the first time in New York City history. We’ve delivered tens of millions of dollars back to tenants who were taken advantage of by bad landlords. We’ve delivered 165,000 potholes being paved. And we’ve done all of these things while also delivering the lowest recorded crime in our city’s history.
That’s what it looks like to have democratic socialism. And what you’re seeing is that New Yorkers experienced this for six months and made the decision that they wanted to see more of it on the national stage as well.

This was a special moment for all of us at ESPN. Thanks, Madden and @danorlovsky7 ❤️

This shouldn’t be a philosophical debate. It’s a misunderstanding of how infectious disease works.
Vaccines aren’t perfect. The measles vaccine is 97% effective with two doses, not 100%, so some vaccinated people remain vulnerable. More importantly, some people can’t be vaccinated at all: infants under 12 months, immunocompromised patients, people with anaphylactic reactions to vaccine components. They depend on the rest of us not spreading a highly contagious virus to them.
Measles has an R0 of 12-18, meaning each infected person spreads it to 12-18 others in an unvaccinated population. The virus can linger in the air for two hours after an infected person leaves a room. At that level of contagion, you need 92-95% vaccine coverage to stop community transmission. When coverage drops, outbreaks happen, and the people who pay the price are often those who had no choice in the matter.
“My body, my choice” makes sense for decisions that affect only your body. Transmissible disease isn’t that. Your choice not to vaccinate can put a 6-month-old in the hospital or kill an immunocompromised kid who couldn’t get the shot.
The question isn’t “why does it matter if I take it.” The question is whether your comfort with risk should override someone else’s right not to get infected by you.
You’re only here because America decided to welcome your family when they were refugees fleeing poverty and violence - the same time the Wright brothers took flight.
You got to be born as a rich kid from Santa Monica who went to elite schools and worked elite jobs.
You’re now at the top of a government run by insanely rich elites who’ve made themselves even richer through lower taxes and open corruption.
Maybe, since you’re in charge of it, you can take some responsibility for the modern world not looking like what your ethnic minority refugee ancestors might have imagined
The consensus view, expressed in the documents below, was that Russia wasn't likely to manipulate voting machines or alter the election results.
The consensus view, expressed after the election by the intel community, the Obama administration, and ultimately a bipartisan Senate panel led by Trump's current Secretary of State/National Security Advisor...was that Russia didn't manipulate voting machines or alter the election results.
What all of those people concluded instead is that Russia disseminated hacked emails and conducted an influence campaign against the 2016 election to undermine Hillary Clinton and help Donald Trump. The consensus was never that the campaign cost Hillary Clinton the election. It was that Putin tried.
That conclusion has never been refuted. Not by Senate Republicans. Not by Marco Rubio. Not by John Durham. Not by anyone who worked for Donald Trump his entire first term. And not by a single word of the information that Tulsi Gabbard has disclosed. Putin's people have even admitted interfering!
This really is peak manufactured scandal, though - the Epstein stuff has been so destabilizing to MAGA that they're not even trying to come up with a believable conspiracy. They can't even articulate what the actual scandal is or offer any evidence to support their claims. The White House just wants people to turn their attention to something else so badly that they're literally yelling "arrest Obama" figuring that the MAGA influencers they lied to about Epstein will fall for it again.
We just have the most impossibly stupid politics.
A $1.1B new terminal. Smarter parking. Part of a $2B transformation of Hopkins Airport. Cleveland’s getting the world-class gateway it deserves—made possible through strong partnership with City Council and our airline carriers.
This is the Cleveland Era.
I love my country with all my heart and I've never been more embarrassed for America than the spectacle I just witnessed in the Oval Office.
Zelensky is fighting for the survival of his country, his people and their democracy.
Trump and Vance appear to be completely aligned with Putin, the invader whose aim has been to conquer Ukraine.
Zelensky should know that millions and millions of Americans still stand with him and his valiant people.
Trump has fallen below 50% in the popular vote. His margin of victory (pop vote + electoral college) is the third smallest since 1888. (Only JFK in '60 and Nixon in '68 were smaller.) If 238k votes in the blue wall states had been different, he would have lost. Not a mandate.
So the new rule is that athletes who support Trump don’t have to answer any questions about their political beliefs, but when other athletes support political and social causes, they do.
Got it. Just trying to figure out where the goalposts are moving next.
“RFK Jr. is the poster boy for the new Trump administration, a rich man who never has had to worry about a thing in his life, putting the lives of ordinary Americans in jeopardy because he thinks he knows better than scientists”

Young dudes have always gone through stupid edgelordy phases but what's changed in my lifetime is there's now a massive ecosystem including a whole political party telling them it's their god-given right to never grow out of it
