Well Kusal Mendis had a great start. But his record against the super 8 teams were 14(20), 4(4) and 11(22). This not the lack of skill, its the lack of intent. Pakistan is asking to drop Babar Azam just because he cannot score above 130 SR. SL should do the same. Find batters who can consistently score at 130+ SR.

In two Tests played in England where Jasprit Bumrah featured, India lost. In the Test he missed, India won. This might look like Bumrah’s presence leads to defeats which is a classic correlation vs causation mistake. But such a pattern doesn’t prove causation. Team outcomes in cricket depend on many variables: pitch conditions, batting collapses, opposition strength, or even toss results. Blaming the loss solely on Bumrah’s inclusion ignores these confounding factors. This is a textbook example of how correlation does not imply causation.
