@acielumumba After this they will fly to their homes, with tarred roads and you will stay at Garikai walking to Terminus in search for better stuff π

Yesterday, three young Zimbabweans drowned in a sewage pond in the high-density suburb of Budiriro because President Mnangagwa and the Mayor of Harare have failed to build and maintain proper sewage infrastructure in the city. Yet this same President, who has ruralised Zimbabwe through the failure to provide basic urban services and has forced residents to depend on borehole water in cities, now demands a further term extension despite these failures. In fact, he has the audacity to want to be a king in a country he has helped destroy.
But what hurt me the most was seeing our Sub-Aqua divers having to dive into sewage with exposed skin on their faces because they do not have proper bio-hazard dive suits. Are we saying that a country where our President has a motorcade worth over $2 million canβt afford biohazard diving suits for our divers?
Even Hitler's Germany did not prevent athletes and officials from entering the country to take part in the 1936 Olympics.
This is pristine racism and @FIFAcom stands disgraced for allowing Trump to disfigure the beautiful game in this way.
This is the lifestyle of those pushing for #CAB3! They have extravagant wealth...they have nomore room for what they have. Ko iwe neni what should we do to make sure this bill does not pass?
Good night!

Open Letter to the Mayor of Bulawayo, Councillor David Coltart
Good morning Mayor @DavidColtart
I write to you on behalf of many students residing at the Bulawayo Students Accommodation City, particularly those studying at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST).
On the evening of 7 June 2026, a tragic incident occurred that has left many students deeply concerned about road safety around our residence. A young female student was struck by a speeding vehicle while attempting to cross the road to purchase food outside the accommodation complex. As students, we immediately mobilized and rushed her to United Bulawayo Hospitals, where she received medical treatment.
This unfortunate incident highlights a longstanding challenge faced by students living at the complex. Since residents are not permitted to cook within the accommodation facilities, many depend on food vendors who operate outside the main gate during the evenings. Every night, hundreds of students cross this Riverside road in search of meals, creating significant pedestrian traffic between the residence and the surrounding area, extending towards the Theological College of Zimbabwe.
With over a thousand students residing in the complex, the absence of adequate traffic-calming measures has become a serious safety concern. Despite the high concentration of pedestrians, many motorists continue to drive at excessive speeds along this stretch of road.
Your Worship, we respectfully appeal to the City of Bulawayo to consider dispatching the relevant engineering and roads team to assess the area and, where possible, install speed humps, pedestrian safety measures, and appropriate road signage. Such interventions could help prevent future accidents and potentially save lives.
We therefore place our trust in your leadership and the commitment of the @CityofBulawayo to creating a safer environment for students and residents alike.
We sincerely hope that this matter will receive urgent consideration before a more tragic outcome occurs.
Yours faithfully,
Chakona Nyasha
Student Leader

Thank you for your open letter which I have drawn to the attention of the Town Clerk and our engineering teams. We will investigate and see what can be done to protect students. Ideally there should be a pedestrian bridge over the Gwanda road but we do not have money in our budget and this is also a national road , so falls under the Ministry of Transport. But we will do whatever is possible.
