Union Secretary Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi @likhi_dr chaired a virtual interactive meeting today to capture feedback from fishermen, fisheries cooperatives, and associations of Uttarakhand. Participants shared their experiences in fish farming and requested support for local feed production, increased availability of cages, ice boxes, mini hatcheries, poly sheets, and cold storage infrastructure. They also emphasized the need for integrating solar energy solutions to address the high electricity demands of trout farming.

JS Shri S. Mehra @JSFisheries urged the State Government to actively implement PMMSY and ensure that beneficiaries receive adequate support under the scheme. The meeting witnessed active participation from over 100 fishermen, fisheries cooperatives, and officials from the state.
