Imagine being greeted at a luxury hotel by someone with four paws and a wagging tail!
Meet Thumki, the beloved mascot of Taj Bengal. Born on the hotel campus to her mother Chumki, Thumki chose to stay back while her sister found a new home.
Today, she’s an integral part of the Taj Bengal family.
Every morning at 4:30 am, Thumki takes her ‘perimeter rounds,’ inspecting the grounds, chasing birds, and doing her part to keep the campus lively.
By the time guests start their day, she retreats to her cozy shelter near the parking lot, always respectful of her human visitors.
Thanks to the compassion of Senior Vice President Operations K. Mohanchandran and his wife Seema, an animal rescuer, Thumki and other campus dogs now have safe shelters, vaccinations, and ongoing care.
Even when Thumki curiously wandered into the grand hotel lobby one day, she was met with smiles and kindness before being gently guided back.
Because true hospitality is not about marble floors. It is about heart.

HD IDS (@HQ_IDS_India) posts, "Certain reports circulating in sections of the media and on social media platforms have incorrectly suggested that the supreme sacrifice of six bravehearts during Operation Sindoor have been acknowledged or brought to public notice for the first time only recently. It is clarified that the nation paid homage to these fallen heroes at the earliest opportunity, well before the reports in question. During the official Press Conference held on 11 May 2025, then Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), paid solemn tribute to these brave soldiers and specifically acknowledged their sacrifice in the line of duty during Operation SINDOOR. These bravehearts were conferred with gallantry awards and this was published in the Press Release of 14 Aug 2025. This constituted a formal and National recognition of their valour and supreme sacrifice in keeping with the highest traditions of the Indian Defence Forces. Simultaneously, the Indian Army’s official social media platforms carried tributes to these bravehearts without delay."

Pakistani Intel Info Ops now planting stories about India agreeing to open and allow Indus Water Treaty if Pakistan opens airspace for Indian aircrafts. This is complete bullshit. Indus Water Treaty remains in dustbin just like Article 370. Pakistan trying to fool their people.

Very soon, he will blend into the crowd because so many of us will have been there. I sincerely hope that happens. I know he may not like it, because his glory will be shared by 20 others, but that is exactly how it should be. However, you will always remain the first one after such a long gap.”

#Ethanol blending programme is scientifically validated and closely monitored by the government; misleading claims and old images being circulated on social media
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas reiterates that the Ethanol Blending Programme is scientifically validated and continuously monitored by the Government.
The Ethanol Blending Programme was launched in 2003 with the objectives of reducing crude oil imports, enhancing energy security and promoting environmental sustainability. The programme has been implemented in a phased manner based on technical preparedness and stakeholder consultations, culminating in the rollout of 20 per cent ethanol blending (E20) from 2023 onwards.

The Supreme Court verdict is being misinterpreted to harass caregivers and harm community animals. Lynching, poisoning, beating to death, remain offences under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act
Most citizens support sterilisation, vaccination, and disease monitoring. Feeders fill an important vacuum created by inadequate sterilisation.
Today dogs are being killed and harmed without accountability and caregivers are being attacked and harassed .
A clear clarification from the Court that the verdict does not override existing animal protection laws will safeguard both animal welfare and citizens' rights.
