In fact, that could be the best thing for Indian cricket, too. BCCI has become too comfortable and lethargic with no real competition.

A strong football ecosystem would push them to step up, plan schedules properly and respect the fans more.

It’s a win for both sports. Smaller countries manage to have 3-4 major sports thrive together, so why not India with 1.5 billion people. They can absolutely coexist.
