#WATCH | Jammu, J&K: On threats to PM Package Kashmiri Pandit employees, Panun Kashmir Chairman Dr Ajay Chrungoo says, "...The fact that these two or three threats have arrived in quick succession, with gaps of only a day or two, suggests they want to convey that they are absolutely serious about their objectives... The most significant aspect is their underlying message: that the Kashmiri Pandits present there are committing an act of betrayal against the local community. This narrative is not new; it existed back in the 1990s as well. Certain groups used to accuse Kashmiri Pandits of being spies, spying for India within Kashmir, and labelled them as 'kafirs' (non-believers)... I believe this brings the issue of an ongoing genocide mechanism back to the forefront. The genocidal campaign under which Kashmiri Hindus were driven out never actually stopped; it continued in both Kashmir and Jammu. There is a continuity, an unbroken thread, to this entire campaign, and security agencies and the government must take cognisance of it; this is not merely a matter of seeking publicity... In these two years, Kashmiri Hindus were specifically targeted, and in many instances, the perpetrators later admitted their reasons for the killings. This reveals the ideological stance of the separatist-terrorist network operating there. From that perspective, driving Hindus out, persecuting them, and ensuring they do not remain there, these actions stem from an ideological objective."
