जब कोई नीति भारत को आत्मनिर्भर बनाती है, किसानों की आय बढ़ाती है और विदेशी तेल पर निर्भरता कम करती है… तब कुछ लोगों की बेचैनी अचानक बढ़ जाती है।

सच्चाई यह है कि भारत में अप्रैल 2023 से E15, अप्रैल 2024 से E19 और अप्रैल 2025 से E20 ईंधन का उपयोग हो रहा है।
20 करोड़ दोपहिया वाहनों और 20 लाख चार पहिया वाहनों में वर्षों से इसका इस्तेमाल हो रहा है, लेकिन कोई समस्या सामने नहीं आई। क्योंकि यह निर्णय वर्षों के वैज्ञानिक परीक्षण के बाद ही लागू किया गया।
फिर अचानक E20 के खिलाफ प्रोपेगेंडा क्यों?

संयोग देखिए… जैसे ही E85 Compatible वाहनों की शुरुआत हुई और भारत ऊर्जा आत्मनिर्भरता की ओर एक और बड़ा कदम बढ़ाने लगा, वैसे ही दुष्प्रचार का अभियान तेज़ हो गया।

इथेनॉल का विरोध केवल एक ईंधन का विरोध नहीं है। यह उस किसान का विरोध है, जिसकी फसल से आय बढ़ती है; उस भारत का विरोध है, जो विदेशी तेल पर निर्भरता कम कर आत्मनिर्भर बनने की दिशा में आगे बढ़ रहा है।

सबसे महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य यह भी है कि इथेनॉल मिश्रण कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत स्वयं कांग्रेस सरकार के समय हुई थी। आज वही नीति जब तेज़ गति से आगे बढ़ रही है और देश को लाभ पहुँचा रही है, तब उसका विरोध केवल राजनीति नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्रहित के विरुद्ध खड़ा होने जैसा प्रतीत होता है।

Exposing the fake news that the ARAI report did not recommend E20 blended ethanol!

• Every petrol car and two-wheeler on the road over the last 3 years has already used 15%, 19%, and 20% ethanol-blended petrol.

• In the last 3 years, 20 crore two-wheelers have already run on ethanol-blended petrol!

• Those who are against farmers, the middle class, and the Indian economy are opposing ethanol-blended petrol!

• The acceleration of cars improves, the driving experience is better, and carbon emissions are lower.

Only the Chinese lobby will benefit if India does not go ahead with the Ethanol Blended Petrol Mission…

Look closely at the timeline, and the pattern becomes difficult to ignore. India imports more than 85% of its crude oil and accounts for 30% of oil demand growth globally.

On 5 June, India took a major step towards reducing that dependence by launching E85 fuel for flex-fuel vehicles at Rs 20/litre cheaper than normal E20 fuel, along with the launch of flex fuel cars and bikes.

Soon after, a coordinated controversy around ethanol-blended fuels began to dominate the conversation and fearmongering started.

Consider the facts. E15+ has been used on Indian roads for over three years. E19+ for over 2 years. E20 has been available since April 2025. More than 20 crore two-wheelers and over 20 lakh four-wheelers have been running successfully on E20 fuel for nearly two years.

Yet, as India accelerated its journey towards greater energy self-reliance, opposition to ethanol blending suddenly intensified.

It is worth asking: who benefits if India remains dependent on imported crude oil or batteries.

Every litre of ethanol blended into petrol helps reduce crude oil imports, strengthens India's energy security, reduces air pollution, supports domestic farmers, and saves valuable foreign exchange. Greater use of indigenous fuels also makes the country less vulnerable to geopolitical disruptions and global price shocks.

E20 is a widely tested, verified, scientific, internationally proven and completely safe fuel for our vehicles. It is also a completely Atmanirbhar fuel which has made our “Annadatas” into “Urjadatas”.
