If bonded government service is compulsory for all, why is the stipend/salary different for doctors posted to CHCs and PHCs doing essentially the same work?

Is there any clear and justified basis for this difference in pay?

Same degree. Same bond. Same government service. Same responsibilities.

Then why different pay for the same work?

Is this kind of salary difference seen in any other profession where people with the same qualification are appointed for the same role?

If the service is equal, shouldn’t the pay be equal too?

Saraswati Institute, Hapur: Students protested after a mob, allegedly dressed as security guards, entered the campus. A stampede followed, girls were reportedly mistreated, and the casualty was locked while two students suffered asthma attacks.

January 2026 — Mayo Institute, Barabanki: An intern complained about rotten mess food. The warden, along with a mob, allegedly assaulted him with iron rods.

But the bigger questions remain:

How does a mob enter a medical college campus?
What are the campus security guards for?
Where is the management?

Medical colleges must be places of learning and safety—not violence and fear.

A doctor stood alone in the ICU, fighting to keep a critically ill patient alive.Then 4–5 allegedly drunk attendants walked in and assaulted him.

No security personnel were there to stop them.

Junior doctors stopped work because they no longer felt safe treating patients.

This is not just violence.
This is a failure of the system that leaves the very people running the hospital unprotected.

First, bonded doctors were given an assurance that a Government Order (G.O.) on equal pay would be issued. The assurance was publicly reported on September 2, yet doctors say that even after 19 days, the G.O. has not been issued.

Now, doctors are being detained while raising the same unresolved issue.

Doctors need a clear policy, written orders and dignity—not repeated assurances.

The Karnataka High Court recently delivered a strong verdict, officially quashing a criminal forgery case against a top Bengaluru-based oncologist and calling out the misuse of the legal system.

The Background: After dedicating nearly 20 years to a private hospital, the renowned oncologist resigned to take up a role at another institution. Following his departure, his former employer filed a criminal complaint, accusing him of forging a signature on an experience certificate—a document the doctor already had undeniable proof of and didn't actually need.

Even though the police investigated and filed a closure report citing no evidence, the hospital continued to drag the doctor through the courts.

The Court's Powerful Stance: Justice M. Nagaprasanna strongly criticized the hospital for using criminal prosecution as a tool for retaliation in an inter-hospital dispute.

The court noted that it was "appalling" to accuse a dedicated doctor of forging proof of experience that the institution itself had witnessed and benefited from for two decades. Cancelling the case, the judge stated that forcing a highly reputed doctor to undergo a trial for such a baseless and improbable claim would be an abuse of the law and a "miscarriage of justice."

The Takeaway: Criminal law cannot be used as a weapon to vent institutional anger or pressure doctors for switching jobs. This ruling is a massive victory for healthcare professionals, proving that the justice system will step in to shield honest healers from frivolous harassment.
