Hot take and I am curious if people agree.
The gym is one of the few places left where your effort is completely honest. No one can fake a heavy squat.
Is that part of why people avoid it?
Also, don't skip leg day.
The biggest insight from years of coachingPeople don't fail because they don't care enough They fail because the friction is too high Every day becomes a negotiation with themselves about whether to work out, what to eat, how hard to go. Remove the negotiation. Watch what happens
Burnout from overtraining doesn't always look like fatigue. Sometimes it looks like injuries that never fully heal, workouts that feel harder than they should, and a motivation loss you can't explain.
Protein is protein. Your muscles don't care if it's a scoop or a steak.
Whey, paneer, dal with skyr, chicken, soy: all valid.
Stop chasing the 'best' source and hit your daily target.
Total protein beats perfect protein.

Guy at my gym never lifts heavy. Always light weights, perfect form, slow reps.
Ignored him for months.
Saw him without his shirt last week.
I need to rethink everything I know. π
There are 2 simple ways to get more protein in:
1. Increase the amount you eat per sitting
2. Increase the amount of meals per day
That's it. It's not rocket science.
Cardio is for cardiovascular health. Weight lifting is for muscular, bone, joint health + strength.
I suggest you do both AND align your nutrition around your goals.
The weekend doesn't undo the week.
Two days of eating clean and working out won't compensate for five days of neglect.
Health is a weekday problem.
Solve it Monday through Friday. The weekend takes care of itself.

Fitness feels easy at 25.
It feels optional at 35.
It feels urgent at 45.
It feels impossible at 55.
But itβs never actually impossible.
Itβs just more expensive.
The cost isnβt money.
Itβs time, energy, health, and quality of life.
Start now. The price only goes up.
