@thaikudambridge One of your lawyers Satish Murthy (an advocate for Supreme Court of India) had made statements that he will seek arrests against the Kantara team for continuing to play Varaha Roopam. Now the case is thrown out on a technicality. Is that stupid or what?
@thaikudambridge So let me get this straight. After all this hungama both the courts decide to throw out your case on a technicality, namely lack of jurisdiction. So we have no idea if there was any merit to this case because your lawyers didn’t know how to file the case properly. How lame?
@thaikudambridge It will also create the space for the Kantara team to show goodwill and give you sue credit. It’s very hard something positive when you are accused in court (unfairly in the minds of many people) of plagiarism. Do the right thing folks.
@thaikudambridge Taking the high road here is the right thing to do for pan-Indian music and movies in India. Your concert attendance will double overnight. Guaranteed.
@thaikudambridge Here is a positive step that you guys can take. You have made your point in court and in public about your concerns. Now just drop the court case and say that you are happy that a song inspired by your creation has made so many people happy. Your will generate so much goodwill.
@thaikudambridge This post couched in the language of justice but with the Kantara poster next to Navrasam and the word plagiarism in it is Defamatory in nature. I am surprised that #HombaleFilms and the #KantaraMovie team have taken this lying down.
@thaikudambridge Please do yourselves and your fans a favor and remove the Kantara poster from this post. Remove the word plagiarized. That is a serious accusation that you have to defend not only in legal courts but in the court of public opinion. It also smacks of arrogance.
@thaikudambridge Do yourselves a favor and remove the Kantara poster from your premature claims of justice being served. A preliminary injunction is not proof of so called justice being served. In fact the Kozhikode court has lifted their injunction.
@thaikudambridge Why do you have the Kantara poster there with the Navarasam poster? Are you suggesting that even the idea of Bhoota Kola is copied from the Navarasam video? This is parochial and divisive. The case has not yet been decided in the courts and you are already declaring victory.
Excited to announce KANTARA TULU Version...After Blockbuster Hit KANTARA the Original TULU Version that all awaited to watch on Big Screen... IN CINEMAS #DivineBlockbusterKantara Tulu Version.
@thaikudambridge We would like to believe that judges are unbiased, but in fact they operate in a cultural milieu. This (unintentionally I am sure) has now taken on a parochial nature. Kerala courts passing injunctions against a Kannada song due to a lawsuit filed by a band from Kerala.
@thaikudambridge If you had to file a lawsuit you could have done that in a location where there is low likelihood of bias. District court judges come from the state. Take a look at the names of judges in a sampling of district courts (say Palakkad, Chitradurga, Kolhapure and Varanasi).
@thaikudambridge The lawsuits were filed in and injunctions were granted by district courts in Palakkad and a Kozhikode against a Kannada song accused of plagiarizing a Malayalam song. Do you see the problem here? How do we know there is no bias in these injunctions?
@thaikudambridge Copyright…is a bundle of rights including, inter alia, rights of reproduction, communication to the public, adaptation and translation of the work.” So is this a case of unauthorized adaptation? Do you really believe that Varaha Rupam is an adaptation of Navrasam?
@thaikudambridge Here is a link to handbook of Indian copyright law. Can you clarify which part of this law has Varaha Rupam violated? https://t.co/d9ab9PDE90.
