Whatever you think about Luke, this is the right call. Swapping one monopoly for another solves nothing. The goal isn't an alternative implementation, it's a market for alternative implementations. Bitcoin Commons (@BtcCommons) is a full node, not a fork of Core, with a governance model designed to minimize capture risk and architected so no one has to ask permission or master eight different disciplines to extend it. That's what the market actually needs.

Well, I did warn that Zcash ($ZEC) was developed from technology originating at Tel Aviv University, involved a venture-funded private company that charged a 15% founders’ tax on mining, had prominent Zionist investors such as Barry Silbert, and relied on assurances from Zionists such as Peter Todd that the keys had been destroyed.
