America didn’t lose in Vietnam on the battlefield—it lost in the court of public opinion. Just like the second Iraq war. Modern warfare is fought as much on perception as it is on the field.

India’s greatest enemy in this war cycle wasn’t across the border—it was the circus at home. While the Indian military followed the government’s directive—hit terror camps, avoid civilians, engage the Pakistani military only if they intervene—our own army of TV channel buffoons went rogue. These are the same people, if you recall, caught on tape, who call war a “business development opportunity.”

They spun fantasy: Karachi port destroyed, F-16s downed, Pakistani pilot captured, Quetta fallen, coup in Islamabad, Pakistan redrawn “in hours.” None of it was true. None of it was our objective. And none of it was even possible, considering Pakistan is a nuclear-armed state backed by China.

But by inflating expectations, they set up the military for failure—at least in the public mind. That’s why Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and even his family were targeted by trolls, accused of “caving in,” his patriotism questioned. All because the real outcome didn’t match a fake narrative.

And this is exactly what parts of the opposition want. These are the same people who would’ve blamed 26/11 on the RSS—if Kasab hadn’t been caught alive. Now they flip-flop: one minute it’s “de-escalate,” the next it’s “Modi is no Indira.” Two media personalities—one denied a Rajya Sabha seat, the other granted one—invoked Indira to stir resentment, while their friends pushed peace, ensuring the government lost, no matter what it did.

It’s no surprise when a desperate opposition echoes Pakistan. But when so-called “friendly” channels sabotage national interest to chase TRPs, that’s more than stupidity—it’s treachery dressed as patriotism.

The timing of breaking Caste Census News was more tragic than the News itself. Bihar Election is one key consideration for this move. It is evident. It is as evident as it was when Modi ji was warning Pakistan in English from Bihar.

BJP is suddenly acting as torch-bearer of Social Justice. Social justice comes when everyone gets equal opportunity and the weaker ones get additional support. Was this done in the last 15 years?

Education is one of the greatest levelers. Has the BJP worked to improve primary education? The condition of primary schools remains poor. Corruption in infrastructure development and teacher recruitment hasn't decreased.

The other big leveler is employment generation. In last 15 years, no serious effort was made to bring big industries to Bihar. The only industries that flourished were coaching centers and hostels to send Bihari Talent out of Bihar or in Bank PO exams.

Safety and security improved, but reminding Lalu days during every election for last 15 years don't justify it.

Two common excuses that party propagates are:

1. Seats are important for passing bills: Come-on, you guys had full majority in 2 terms. During this time, most ministers were either sleeping or doing Mahima Mandan of Modi ji.

2. Bihar votes for caste: So you mean, you couldn't find and nurture 50 good leaders from a state having 10 crore people. Not even from the caste? This means that top leadership at center and state are failing.

Modi ji has single handedly dampened the enthusiasm of the nation that was uniting against Pakistan.

This might be the only way to wake up insensitive babus and politicians to the Air quality disaster! And it’s not limited to the North or the winters!

When in India, I did end this podcast early due to the bad air quality. @nikhilkamathcio was a gracious host and we were having a great time. The problem was that the room we were in circulated outside air which made the air purifier I'd brought with me ineffective.

Inside, the AQI was 130 and PM2.5 was 75 µg/m³, which is equal to smoking 3.4 cigarettes for 24 hours of exposure.

This was my third day in India and the air pollution had made my skin break out in rash and my eyes and throat burn.

Air pollution has been so normalized in India that no one even notices anymore despite the science of its negative effects being well known. People would be outside running. Babies and small children exposed from birth. No one wore a mask which can significantly decrease exposure. It was so confusing.

The evidence shows that India would improve the health of its population more by cleaning up air quality than by curing all cancers.

I am unsure why India's leaders do not make air quality a national emergency. I don't know what interests, money and power keep things the way they are but it's really bad for the entire country.

When I returned to the U.S., my eyes were fresh to see what is normalized to me. I saw obesity everywhere. 42.4% of American are obese and because I was around it all the time, I had been mostly oblivious to it.

In many contexts, obesity is worse than air pollution in the long term.

Why wouldn't American leaders declare a national emergency on obesity? What interests, money and power keep things the way they are but are really bad for the entire country.

People are spending money on:

1) Water tankers
2) Air Purifiers
3) Expensive housing in private societies (so that they get a place to walk/play-area for kids)
4) Private vehicles ( 28% GST on cars)
5) High education cost in private schools

In short: they are solving their own problems.
Yet, the taxes are high.

This fact needs to be fixed.
And, everyone knows this.

But, the focus of our taxation is to extract maximum juice out of 2Cr people already paying. And, harass them to death.
